We begin today’s journey with the questions, what does it mean to be asleep? and what does it mean to awaken? Getting very ‘physical’ about these questions, sleep is a period of time (often at night) when we remove ourselves from the distractions of the world, we close our eyes and let our breathing and heart rate slow, we turn down the volume of our surroundings and allow our neural processors to sort and catalog all that we experienced throughout our waking hours. In this context to awaken is to make our return to the world of tangibility once again - to begin ‘making memories’ and regain our physical senses once again.
From this example we can begin to delve deeper into the spiritual and shamanic avenues of sleeping and awakening; on one level we can understand that to be asleep is to be unaware, it speaks of the journey not yet taken, of a sometimes willful obtuseness and reticence for change. We say someone is sleepwalking through the world if they are unaware their surroundings or their impact; on another level we can explore the sleeper as one who has been navigating other realms, this could be astral travel or deep subconscious journeying - this is a powerful time and like sleep nourishes and prepares our physical and mental bodies for our journey through the material world around us, this sleep journey is preparation for the spiritual journey ahead.. That said unless we allow the sleeper to awaken all this powerful work is for naught.
The sleeper awakens as we begin to bring the wisdom gained during the deep journeys through the dreamtime into the physical world. Sometimes this is done through dream journaling, others through the experience of trance meditation whereby we allow ourselves to journey through the various planes of being while still in a ‘waking’ state.
This little preamble is a jumping off point for us, you see we are in a monumental period of awakening - a moment when many, many, many people who have been sleep-walking through the world are being activated; the lights are being turned on and they will begin to see the world in new ways. If you are reading this there is a good chance that you have a fairly good idea, in a very personal way, what I mean when I say the lights are being turned on - you may be traveling a few steps ahead of these beautiful newly awakening beings, or you may have been traveling for some time now and are ready to begin or have already begun to set up a resource center to help those just beginning their journey. Wherever you are this activation is not just for those who are newly awakening but is moving through each of us a-lighting within us new re-memberings of our soul's karmic mission.
Many channels, astrologers and grid workers, myself included, have been talking about the significance of this month November in which we currently find ourselves traveling, the stars are aligned and the crumbling is getting ever more visible, this is part of the plan - you see when everything is comfortable we have a tendency as humans to stay the course even if the ‘comfort’ is not actually all that comfortable. We may moan and complain about the dysfunction of our structures (roads, banks, schools, governments) but they remain just solid enough for us to shrug our shoulders and say ‘well, what’re ya gonna do’ - then a calamity arises, like in 2006 when hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, many knew that the levees were in desperate need of repair, however the ‘will’ was not there so nothing was done - leaving the world to watch in horror their inevitable collapse, the humanity on display was a catalytic event, it awakened many people to the state of America's infrastructure and the disparity of impact amongst various income and social classes. A throughline can be drawn from here to the rise in awareness of other inequalities in the United States and around the world - of course no single event happens in a vacuum and as such we can also trace lines backwards through other events that helped this awakening process.. Let’s bring things back to this current moment though, we look around and it doesn’t take long to find a disaster, be it natural or man-made, a fire, a war, a flood, banking systems and currencies, failures of education and of protection of our most vulnerable. It can be easy to get lost in these events, to be unable to ‘see your nose for your face’; however if we take a moment and go within we can find a throughline, a connection that these cataclysms all have in common, they are waking us up to the failures of the ‘power over’ era we have been living in, Inviting us to explore new ways of being, of relating and of empowering ourselves and one another..

I said that the ‘stars are aligned’ and now it is time to bring them in, as we explore the Scorpio New Moon on the 13th November at 1:37am as well as the week of the waxing moon.
We open the proceedings with two planets, whom are connected to the sleeping and the awakening, Neptune and Uranus both of the planets are very tightly aspected with our Scorpio New Moon - let’s move with Neptune first, the ‘Galactic Shaman’ has been moving backwards through the end degrees of Pisces since June in a tight Square to the Galactic Center; Neptune is known as the remover of veils, if Scorpio energy can sometimes feel like traipsing through deep stagnant water, we can feel Neptune in Pisces as a cleansing prismatic misting as the waves begin to crash once again, bringing the depths up to the surface where the light of the sun activates the life within. In Sextile to Neptune we have Uranus in Taurus also still moving retrograde, this is the planet of Awakening, connected with Lightning, Volcanoes, Earthquakes and with the rising of Kundalini energy - we are invited to experience this as the shifting of tectonic plates below the stagnant water which is activating those Neptunian waves.
As the New Moon energies peak on the 13tth we find the Sun, Moon, Mars and Ceres all conjunct in Scorpio. In the days following as the Moon moves on, the conjunction between the Sun, Mars and Ceres tightens, it will be exact on the 17-18th and is active throughout the month even as these bodies shift from Scorpio into Sagittarius. When Luna meets with the Sun, Mars and Ceres we find them in a very tight opposition to Uranus and a Trine to Neptune. The Solar conjunction with Mars and Ceres in Scorpio and flowing into Sagittarius is an invitation to explore the seeds that we’ve sown (Ceres) and what it means to be a warrior (Mars) - over the past couple years in particular Mars has been asking us to stop limiting ‘him’, even using that masculine pronoun feels difficult now. There is a bumper sticker that I have seen often and always resonated with ‘Question Authority’, this is what Mars, the ruler of Aries, the sign of self-empowerment, has been saying to us - don’t let anyone tell you who you are, what you are or where you belong! In the collapsing density we find so many engaged in fighting their ancestors wars; this has been very visceral for me in the war being fought in Israel and Palestine, there is much to grieve in this conflict but whenever I feel into the ‘conscripted’ compulsory military service in Israel, knowing that being born there 18 years ago means that you were now legally required to join the military, to bomb and fight regardless of your personal beliefs about the legality of the war absolutely breaks my heart - as the rising up amongst many of the young there who have said I will not fight your war has also flooded my heart with light. We can also see in this warring ‘the seeds that have been sown’ - in the horrible bombing campaign that Hamas began this current heating up of hostilities, a direct result of the seeds dis-empowerment that has been a daily part of life in Gaza for generations now.
I am not here to assign blame or get into a political conversation about this fraught situation, which has been centuries (longer) in the making, but it is a powerful example of structures that do not serve, of the follies of the ‘power over’ structures and the clearing of the board. This is an expression of the wounded Mars, as all violent and bloody wars are. Sometimes it is through witnessing the most horrible atrocities that we are awakened to new possibilities, with so many voices rising up saying please god there must be another way!
This brings me to another aspect that is very prominent during this New Moon and throughout the month of November; a tight conjunction between Saturn and Magdalena; these two have been dancing together since the beginning of retrograde season back in June. Magdalena shifted direct first having retrograded all the way back to the late degrees of Aquarius, Saturn followed shortly after at the 0 of Pisces - on the New Moon we find them bridging the anorectic degrees of these signs Magdalena at the 29 of Aquarius and Saturn still at the 0 of Pisces - on the 17th Magda will rejoin the Lord of Karma there.. They are aspecting a powerful galactic cluster which we have not previously spoken into our space; The Shapley Supercluster, is astrologically found at 2 of Scorpio but actually exists in the Southern Sky constellation of Centaurus; during this Scorpio New Moon we have a very powerful double mixed sign Grand Trine being formed with this Supercluster - interestingly this is also where we found the Sun during the Taurus Full Moon Eclipse.. Let’s call Shapley in shall we, first from an astronomical perspective.
The Shapley Supercluster is home to over 800 galaxies, and is the largest concentration of galaxies in our nearby universe; it forms a gravitationally interacting unit, pulling itself together rather than expanding with the universe… Found in the constellations Centaurus this cluster is only ‘visible’ in the Southern Hemisphere though its impact can be felt throughout the entire planet.
Shapley is a magnetic force, from an astrological perspective it represents areas of unification, where we are asked to pull things closer and go deeper within. It represents those things deep within that you are called to bring to the surface, when we think of an orbit and a gravitational force it can feel like a sinking in, however it is more cyclical than that; the Torus fields of electromagnetic energy that moves through and emanates from your heart and mind is a good visualization of this. The energy flows outward and also inward, it is a constant recycling, that which was on the surface moments earlier is now in the depths of your heart and vice versa.. This is how the energy of Shapley Supercluster works within our system, it connects us out further into the universe, pulling us closer to its heart even as we appear to be pulling farther and farther away in the expanding universe.
As we feel the toroidal energies of Shapley I call in those who are making up these interlocking Grand Trines. In conjunction with Shapley we find Pallas at 27 of Libra, Haumea at 1 Scorpio, Isis and Persephone at 5 and 7 Scorpio respectively - The aforementioned Magdalena at 29 Aquarius and Saturn at 0 Pisces make up another Air-Water bridge while at 29 Gemini Medusa and 7 Cancer Vesta make up the other. This is a powerhouse of energy working upon our mental and emotional bodies! Can you feel how they are helping to clear the bridge between our hearts and minds - to help us awaken to higher frequencies of love. As Shapley pulls things closer and deeper within we recall that Medusa and Magdalena both in the final degree of Air signs hold templates of story reclamation, while Magda has recently begun moving forward again over in Gemini (sign of expression and communication) Medusa has just started moving backwards, asking us to explore our sub and unconscious communications and the stories we tell ourselves in those places where light has for so long feared to tread. We find these two also making the tight Trine with Pallas, aka Athena, who is also on a reclamation mission, having been de-mothered by the ‘patriarchy’ and made into a tool of war and an oppressor of women. While in the emotional realms we find energies of re-membering (Isis), of having traveled the depths and risen again finding voice and crown (Persephone) of regeneration (Haumea) in Scorpio, of eternal passions ignited and non-extinguishable (Vesta) in Cancer and an opportunity to rise above the wounded masculine and find the new foundations available through the higher heart (Saturn) in Pisces. Can you feel how much awakening we have already had and how much more is to come!
There was a secondary title to this CLD which this intertwining Grand Trine energy calls in now: Awakening to the Empowered Union - this speaks to the aspect of awakening that is the Opening of the Eyes - when with eyes open we are able to more wholly see our true selves and through this all the more clearly perceive those with whom we connect - speaking of connections there is one more piece that cycles in here now for us, Venus in Libra conjunct Kali, like many of the energies which have been called in during this dropping of Cosmic Light the tightest moment of this conjunction is occurring between the 17-18 of November. Venus and Kali are asking you to find your voice ever more strongly, to rise up in your relationships and say Here I Am, this is the whole me and to let those who don’t like it fall away; if you cannot be your full expression of self in a relationship; they are asking you: who are you being and why? When Venus travels in her home sign of Libra she invites you to explore what you value in your relationships as well as your relationship to your values. With this Kali conjunction there is an opportunity to shake loose from the tree and dead branches, to clear away anything that isn’t in alignment, this is true about relationships as well as old values that no longer serve - these two are also making a tight Square to our friend Vesta in Cancer which means that we are invited to connect with the eternal flame and ask ourselves does this light me up?
When we feel into this theme of Awakening there is another piece that comes through and that is Passion, and as I type this I hear the words ‘the Passion of the Christ’, what is meant by these words? The Passion has been equated to the blood and oftentimes to the act of murder that was the crucifixion. It is however more accurate to say that it is that heating and stirring within the blood, that spark and ignition of the flame within the waters of our being. The molten flow of volcanic activity changes our very structure - the passion is what rouses us from our sleep. You may even have noticed, one of the signature ‘symptoms’ of a Kundalini Awakening, a sudden warming of the body, one moment you are sitting comfortably then suddenly your whole body flushes in a rising of heat. This passion is being templated for us in the alchemical marriage of the Sun and Mars in the Watery depths of Scorpio, with the Eternal Flame of Vesta in the uterine fluid of Cancer and through so much more during this current cycle.
In addition to the powerful New Moon on the 13th we also have the 11/11 and 11/22 portals this month, and of course the conjunction dates of the 17-18th which in many ways feels to me like the most potent activation portal of the entire year, which this year is really saying something…
