What if I told you there was a Guardian Angel looking over this Scorpio New Moon Eclipse? When you think of Angels what comes to mind? Hold on, before we go there, let’s dive into a new frequency; something that hasn’t been felt on this planet in more than 100 years. On the 22nd of October, Venus will experience its Cazimi or Star Point with Sol, this event marks Venus’ transformation from an Morning Star to an Evening Star.
Cazimi means “In the Heart of the Sun’, and is the point when a planet moves through the same location where the sun sits within our astrological wheel. The typical Venus Cazimi cycle is about every 9 months and happens once each year. In 2022 Venus is experiencing two Cazimis, this “anomaly” is I guess unsurprising in a year where Mars stays in the same sign for nearly six months, amongst other “anomalous” cosmic alignments. Venus first entered the Heart of the Sun in the middle of her retrograde cycle on 8 January 2022 re-emerging as a Morning Star, she kisses the Sun again on the 22nd transforming into an Evening Star. This metamorphosis occurs as Saturn Stations Direct, a day before the Sun moves into Scorpio on the 23rd; and 3 days before the New Moon Eclipse on the 25th. These factors alone would be attention grabbing but Venus has another trick up her sleeve. For the first time in about 150 Years the Venus Star Point is moving into her home sign Libra. In order to feel into what this transition has in store, let’s explore the energy of Venus in Scorpio. The Venus Star Point has been in a Scorpio cycle since the dawn of the 20th century. The ‘mudra’ for Scorpio is “I Transform”. It feels safe to say that a lot has transformed about our relationship to Love and Beauty in this time frame. One of the classic troupes about Scorpio’s is that they are “Obsessed with Sex and Death”. Looking at how Love has been portrayed during this time frame, through Popular Culture: Art, Literature, Movies, Music; It is not difficult to find Sex and Death being connected to Love during the last century. I keep thinking of the Halloween movie franchise as a perfect example of this. Scorpio energy is also associated with Secrets, revealing truths when in an exalted state or keeping things hidden when in a Distorted or Shadow state, I find the movie Sex, Lies and Videotape coming in to provide an example of this. If you haven’t seen it, the entire movie is about hiding sexual desire. Making Sex and Love into something that must be hidden. Another way to feel into this is the difficulty many people seem to have in separating Love from Lust. When sex becomes something that should be hidden, something in the shadows even, then everything about love can also become a sort of Taboo. Another feel coming in is the uproar over women's bodies, of breastfeeding, of Janet Jackson's nipple, of visible panties, the physical form as somehow dirty, as the act of creation (birthing) is turned into a medical procedure, something that needs to be hidden. There are so many ways in our society that we are told the Sex is Dangerous. There is this feeling as we watch the “Virginal” Jamie Lee Curtis chased by the monster, coming into her self reliance, as those who are living in “sin” are easily murdered. As we watch, a deeper wisdom emerges, this is not true. Perhaps we can even feel how the “monster” chasing her around is a symbol of her fear of becoming a woman? Of becoming a sexual being… Perhaps this is why though a Horror movie, many find it to be of more a comic sensibility. Most comics will tell you that their entire job is to bring to light a misunderstanding, helping their audience feel the actual truth about whatever the topic of discussion might be. This is all to say that though we can definitely see the shadow aspects of Venus’ 100+ year stay within Scorpio, there has also been much growth through this underworld voyage.We have seen amazing revolutions during this time frame, profound levels of empowerment as people's ability to express love in the way they feel it becomes destigmatized. Over the next few years, Venus will actually Star Point in Scorpio again teetering between the 0 point of Scorpio and the 29 of Libra, before making the full transition into Libra in 2026. Giving us the opportunity to get our bearings as we move more fully into the energy of Libra. So what can we expect from Venus in Libra? Well, Libra’s ‘mudra’ is “I Connect”, this is where we find Balance, our Connections-Relationships. Libra’s symbol is the Scales and is also often associated with Justice. Unlike Scorpio, a Water sign, which deals with our emotional bodies, Libra is an Air sign and corresponds with our mental realm. Venus is at home in Libra, and creates space here for us to think of a better way to Love, to seek connections. To find a sense of balance within ourselves and our relationships. I am really feeling the energy of Mars in Gemini coming in as I speak to ‘thinking of a better way’. On the 30th Mars will station retrograde in Gemini and continue this way until 12 January 2023. This is helping us to explore the depths of our mental realm. Mars in Gemini is asking us to remember that our Thoughts are Actions, together with Venus now coming into a Libra Starpoint we are being given a beautiful shining reminder that Love is an Action Word, that Thoughts of Love literally create Love in our Environment.
OK now back to the Angels.. On 25 October, the day of the (Parital) Solar Eclipse, we find an exact conjunction between the Sun, Moon and Venus at 2° Scorpio, just off to the side is the South Node, more on this to come.. As I do whenever I run an Astro Chart, whether for a Light Drop, an Energy Update or for a One on One; I tuned in and asked, what are the frequencies (asteroids, stars etc..) that wish to be included for this Lunar Cycle? This time I was called to look at a group of asteroids I've not previously added. Each of them resonantes to the Angelic frequency. The first to come through is an asteroid named Angel; which to my amazement I found at 2° Taurus during our Scorpio New Moon. Meaning it sits exactly across from our Moon, Sun, Venus conjunction. Angel is also in a very tight Trine to Isis at 3° of Virgo, who is in a Sextile with the eclipse energies. Isis is a symbolic expression of rebirth, of birthing a new and divine sense of self. This brings in a feeling of Venusian light (Venus conjunct New Moon) being reflected upon the Earth plane, in the form of Isis, to hold space for the purification that is occuring; gifting our Earth Angel with this light, which then reflects this love back onto us. A mirror of light reflecting our own love light back into us as we eclipse out those aspects of our-selves that we no longer need to carry. This eclipse wormhole is connecting us to some fairly intense energies, with a lot of potential for the revealing of secrets, for the unearthing of deep ingrained density, especially as we draw closer to the 8 November Full Moon Eclipse. This Earth (Taurus) Angel feels like a reminder that these are growth pains. Whether you wish to view Angels as beings from heaven, light from a higher dimensional plane or as a beautiful symbol of protection from our higher selves, there is a sense that we are being shown the potential of bringing this more etheric, love filled state of beingness to the Material World. There is also a sense of being held in the light, protected, as the old falls away.
I was also asked to include in our New Moon Eclipse chart the asteroids named for the Archangels of the Four Winds; Raphael (East), Michael (South), Gabriel (West) and Uriel (North). If Sandalphon and Metatron had asteroids I’m sure they would’ve asked to be included too, maybe one day. At this point, I suppose I shouldn’t have been surprised to find that each of them were making pretty interesting aspects as well.
Let’s begin in the Eastern plane with the Archangel of Healing Raphael. Who we find at 13° Pisces in an exact Grand Water Trine with the South Node in Scorpio and Sirius in Cancer; and an exact Sextile with the North Node. Let’s really feel that for a moment shall we, maybe even close your eyes as you feel into the Green Ray, the Green Aura of Gaia, see it resonating from your heart center. Allow this beautiful healing Green light to engulf your entire body and energetic field. Now let yourself feel into the direction East, where the sun rises, the dawning of a new day. A Trine represents easily accessible gifts, sometimes even those taken for granted. Could Raphael be reminding us that those places of Karma, those places where we’ve been, are also the places where we can find our latent talents. That through embodying these gifts (sextile the North Node in Taurus) we find healing, not just for ourselves but also for the planet as a whole. This, to me anyhow, feels like a potent reminder of the healing that is underway. As if to hammer this point home, directly across the wheel from Raphael, at 14° of Virgo is Horus, a symbol of unification, of embodying the fullness of being. Horus is sitting in the sign of Healing (Virgo) in a near exact Trine to the North Node and Sextile to the South. Reminding us that this is a “purification” to help us become more whole. It is not simply a death, it is also a rebirth.
Let’s follow the compass moving South into the frequency of Archangel Michael, who’s name means “One Who is Like God”. I found Michael at 26° of Scorpio, directly across the wheel from Algol and very close to our friend Kali who has now backtracked to 24° of Taurus. This also puts Michael in a lovely Trine aspect to Neptune at 23° Pisces. Like Kali, Archangel Michael is sometimes referred to as a Demonslayer, in the Bible and Book of Enoch he is described as the leader of God’s Army who comes down to rid the Earth of the Giant’s and Fallen Angels (Demons). However rather than as a sword brandishing warrior, Michael has often shown ‘himself’ to me as instead a Hero for Truth. Carrying the frequency of protector not ‘from the evil that men do’ but for the beauty that lays within the hearts of all beings. There are so many energetic similarities between Archangel Michael and Kali that it is kinda mind blowing actually. The biggest probably being that they want to help you find your purpose in life. To stop hiding from your truth, and they will use ‘any means necessary to do so’, burning away your ‘demons’. Interestingly they both also have flaming swords and are connected to the element of Fire. Fire is associated with the Ego, with the Sense of Self. With purification, we use fire to burn away anything that is no longer needed. The vision that comes in for this is a farmer gathering all the weeds from the field into a pile and burning them; then feeding the soil with this nutrient rich ash. As we connect to the Trine with Neptune we find ourselves bringing in the frequency of alchemical marriage, as the elements of Fire (Michael/ South) and Water (Neptune/ Pisces & Scorpio) are combined. Together they Gift us with a remembrance, when our Emotional bodies are in alignment with our Sense of Self we find ourselves living a more truthful existence. We can stop hiding from ourselves. Could this be the dream of Transcendence represented by Neptune in Pisces.
Before we move on to the West and Gabriel there is a piece that wants to be shared. I often find myself exploring the Archangels, The Directions (Winds), The Elements and the Tarot.. I have found that nearly all cultures describe the same symbolic correspondence between the elements and directions. East - Air; South - Fire; West - Water; and North - Earth. When we meet the Archangels they follow this same pattern, Raphael - East - Air; Michael - South - Fire; Gabriel - West - Water; Uriel - North - Earth, It is when we bring in the “tools” of these Archangels that things get a little odd.. Raphael holds a Wand, Michael holds a Sword, Gabriel holds a Chalice and Uriel holds a Pentacle. These are the same “tools” that exist within the Tarot, however looking at each of the suits of the Tarot, we find that the connection between Wands (Fire) and Swords (Air) is now reversed. I actually asked Archangel Michael about this at one point, why are you portrayed as having a sword when you are connected to the element of Fire and the direction South. The Archangel answered in a funny way, saying it was you all that gave me a sword silly, it would be more proper to portray my tool as a sort of obelisk of Blue Flame. As I write this another piece also comes through. When we look at the connection of these elements to our states of beingness we find that Earth is our physical bodies, Water our Emotional, Air our Mental and Fire our Sense of Self or Ego. There is a sense that in our human lives we sometimes get a little confused and have a difficult time separating what we think we are from who/ what we actually are. I recall listening to an interview with a Taoist Monk recently and feeling this as he spoke “we are not our bodies, we are so much more than this physicality; but often our Egos become so attached to our bodies that we lose track of the truth, that we are amazing beings of light currently inhabiting a physical form”. Perhaps this is why we have given Michael a Sword of Fire, a light-saber or maybe more accurately a Light Saver. The demon that Michael is here to slay is the amnesia, the part of us that forgot how big, how beautiful Our-Self truly is.
OK, let’s keep turning this wheel, coming to the West point, to Archangel Gabriel. I found this chalice bearing, being of light hanging out in Virgo at 19°, near Horus and across the wheel slightly askew from Raphael. However rather than being Trine to the Nodes, Gabriel is tuned to Uranus in Taurus now at 17°. The Great Awakener, Uranus, is being visited by the flowing waters of a truly awakened emotional sense of beingness. Perhaps we can feel this as Gabriel gifting the sometimes impersonal Uranus with a connection to the emotional realms. Helping to ensure that the future being created is not too sterile. Both Gabriel and Uranus are located within Earth signs, which indicates that they are interested in how we exist in our physical beings, on the Earth. This is not about leaving the material world, but awakening to the true potential of incarnate life.
Speaking of the Earth, let’s spin that wheel one more time to find Uriel of the North. Now this one is a little different; unlike the other asteroids this one is not exactly named Uriel. It is actually called Oriela, which means Golden. The meaning of Uriel is “God’s Light”, this Archangel is associated with the Red Ray and also with Golden Light. In astrological circles, even though not the same spelling, this asteroid is considered to bear the frequency of Uriel. Our archangel of the Earth plane, of the physical body, is currently in Cancer at 17° in an exact sextile to Uranus, with sextile energy also nestled between Horus and Gabriel in Virgo. It's as if this Golden Light is putting an exclamation point on the statement that the New Earth must include our Physicality AND our Emotions. Cancer is all about our sense of belonging, about our family structures. Asking us to remember that we belong to the Earth and the Cosmos. That we are a marriage of Light and Matter, our emotions are part of this, they are how our heart expresses this lovelight.
There is a real feeling that each of these Archangels is holding their corner of this tapestry of Earthly existence; connecting our past to our future. Gifting us with a remembrance that birthing the New Earth, all this transformation we are experiencing, is not about escaping our physicality. It is about bringing even more of our true light into our physical beings and allowing Gaia to shine more radiantly as well.
This lunar cycle isn’t all Angels though, as we move into the frequencies of All Hallows Eve we find Mars finally moving into its long shadowed retrograde. Before we start moving backwards with Mars though, it is the still forward moving planet of action that has some frequencies to share with us. We’ve been talking about Mars in Gemini for a bit now, this is one of the signature frequencies for the rest of this year. In the days leading to and of the eclipse, as the Arcturus Gateway (16-19) opens and closes again with Saturn and Uranus pulling away from their final, nearly exact square. We find Mars and Sophia in a fairly tight conjunction with the stellar dimensions of Orion, namely the stars Betelgeuse and Meissa. During this same time period the Orionids Meteor Shower peaks. Sophia means Wisdom, Gemini rules the mental realm, how we communicate and express ourselves. Mars is all about charging forward, bringing in the new. This grouping is Trine to Arcturus, to Sol and Venus; through the opening of the Gateway, and as Venus reaches Star Point on the 22nd. By the time we reach the New Moon it will be Mercury moving up to meet with Arcturus and Trine Mars, Sophia and these shooting stars. Can we allow ourselves to feel the gift of these stars streaking across the sky? That they are the wisdom, the light that Sophia is sharing with us, literally trailing across the sky and dropping light upon our world, upon our heads.
There is a very strong frequency that I am feeling about this Scorpio New Moon Eclipse. As the Moon, Our Unconscious, tracks over the Sun, Our Outward Expression of Self, it is unearthing (Scorpio) a secret about the self, about our sense of self, revealing something that is no longer true. As the moon uncovers the sun we are able to “eclipse” out those aspects of our-selves that we do not need to carry forward, Through this process Venus is holding the Frequency of Love, reminding us to connect with our hearts. Perhaps even to begin a relationship, or strengthen our relationship with our hearts desire. Not as something, someone, separate from self but of our-self. Mars is helping us to connect with our “shadow” thoughts, those ways we tell ourselves how something is supposed to be, rather than where we listen to our heart’s truth and allow that which is meant to be. As the Angelic Realms hold us, support us and remind us that they are also us. We are all here, in this moment to remember the truth, that we are all one, we are all light, we are these shooting stars descending to the Earth Plane, this is our past and our future.
Before we close this edition of Cosmic Light there is one more energy that has caught my attention. Chariklo, the wife of Chiron. This energy was actually one of the first that asked to be included in this Scorpio New Moon Eclipse chart. Sitting at 4° Aquarius in a Fixed T-Square formation to the Eclipse/ Venus and to our Taurus Angel. Chariklo reminds that it is not about “healing” a wound in a traditional sense, it is more about allowing our relationship to our wounds to transform. Aquarius energy can be quick like Uranus, the modern ruler of this sign; however like the ancient and vedic ruler of Aquarius, Saturn, this is also where we can find our foundations. Many view Aquarius as the sign of the New Age, the New Earth.. and like Libra this sign is community-oriented. Aquarius holds the frequency of originality, open-mindedness, humanitarianism, connecting, and inviting. In Square to our Scorpio Eclipse and Taurus Angel there is a reminder that in order to bring in this new open-fair community we are being asked to see around the wounds of our past, to allow ourselves to see the wound as a source of great strength, the place where we are able to transcend our limited beliefs about right-thinking and wrong-thinking, to allow a truer and deeper relationship with our beingness and through this an ability to truly collaborate with another. This is not a ‘if you want to receive love you must love yourself first’ energy. It is more a remembering, you ARE LOVE and that you ARE LOVED, then through this remembering, opening up to receive this love to greater and greater degrees.
