We Are Another Ourselves
I AM Another Yourself. The last couple days these words, which are the modern translation of Lak’ech Ala K’in, an ancient Mayan Law, have been percolating through my being. This morning as I was walking around Bernal they came in again, in the form of a little song:
I AM another Yourself, Yes, I Am another Yourself;
You Are another Myself, Yes, You Are Another Myself;
We Are, oh Yes, We Are Another One Another,
There is, oh Yes, There is No Other
Over this past weekend I started to sense that Lak’eh Ala K’in would be a big component of our Aries Full Moon Cosmic Light Drop. I wasn’t quite sure, yet, what the Astrological correspondence might be. So I began to ask the stars, the planets, the cosmos, what are you wishing to communicate. I felt a deep resonance with Mars in Gemini. With these weeks before Mars shifts retrograde at the end of October; a few days after the Scorpio New Moon Eclipse. Remembering this statement of unity and oneness feels like really powerful medicine for Eclipse season, which opens with the Aries Full Moon. Kali’s Retrograde energy, which I spoke about in the Energy Update Examining Your True Self as Kali goes Retrograde, also has this frequency of inter-connectedness as its bedrock. As I sang the song, this morning, allowing the gnosis that all I felt, witnessed; every being I encountered was part of me as I am part of them and we all are part of the whole. I remembered again, this is a Full Moon in Aries, which will pass right over top of Chiron and land just off to the side as it reaches peak fullness.
Who AM I? If I AM my truest self will I be abandoned? These are aspects of the wound Chiron in Aries represents. You may recall that Chiron went Retrograde back in July, the Wounded Healer will continue to backstep until December 23rd. Chiron’s journey through Aries is bringing beautiful healing energy to our collective not enoughness wounds. Over the last couple months and until the end of the year we’re being asked to allow this healing balm to also move into our personal sense of beingness. Chiron has been getting lit up a lot this year; On this Aries Full Moon, Chiron finds himself being Lit Up by the bright spotlight of the Full Moon. With the Sun and Venus sitting across the wheel and Hekate holding her torch at the crossroads, square to them all. In the Libra New Moon Update, we were called to connect with Ourselves. It feels like this Chiron energy is saying, OK now that you’ve connected to yourself on a deeper level, can you let go of all that is not true. Releasing these Not True aspects of yourself (Kali is here to help with this too). So that it can be alchemized in the Light of this Full Moon. Remember this is an Aries Full Moon, Fire is a purifying agent, and in the sign of Aries this comes through to allow for rebirth, new beginnings. This bright fiery light clears the brush enabling you to see the direction Hekate’s Torch is pointing, so that you may step further down the path of your true soul calling. Venus is inching closer to her exact conjunction with Sol, on the last day of Libra season 22 October. This event called the Star Point can help remind you to allow your radiant light of divine love to shine both inwards and outwards. As I am typing these words Sirius tapped me on the shoulder. Reminding me that this Stellar dimension is conjunct with Hekate. The tightest aspects (closest by degree), Sirius in Cancer, Venus in Libra and Chiron in Aries, could be considered the anchor points of this Square energy. Venus and Sirius are both deeply connected to the “Roseline” - this is the lineage carried through the Isis Mystery School. Venus in her home sign of Libra, brings in the energy of connecting to what you love and Hekate hanging out with Sirius in Cancer, your sense of belonging. In this tight square to a retrograde Chiron we might find ourselves deeply examining if the places we once thought we belonged are still true.. Do they leave you questioning yourself, do you find yourself in a state of trying to mold yourself to fit into them. This is not about asking others to change themselves but rather asking yourself, Am I in the right place for myself right now?
This is actually a place I often find myself. I am a Cancer with a Chiron in Aries and a Libra rising after all. For myself I have found that if I am in a state of questioning whether a relationship is still true. I do not seek outside of myself for the answer. I do not say to my husband you must remake yourself to meet who I am today. Instead I ask myself, am I allowed to be the wholeness of myself in this relationship today? If the answer comes back, No, I go deeper. Why do I feel that way? In each moment remembering that I am another himself, he is another myself. Usually the answer comes back that I “think” that he might roll his eyes, which is a fear of rejection that I then project onto him, often without ever giving him the chance to prove me wrong. When I am able to connect with this truth, we can engage again from an ease filled place and even if he maybe doesn’t understand all that I do in each day, he also isn’t ‘rolling his eyes’ or judging me. Leaving my husband out of this now, I can also say from experience that the answer doesn’t always come back with a “yes, it's safe to engage with every, another myself” Sometimes a relationship is indeed no longer possible, can you love yourself and that other being enough to allow the page to turn? In my life there have been many times that I have had to step away from a relationship, sometimes BIG ones, like my parents. When I feel the harsh judgment coming in, how can you be a vessel of compassion and love but not be able to be in a day to day relationship with your Mother. I allow the exact same meditation to move through me. I ask myself what is true, not what I would need them to change or do, but what is the actual truth as the people we are in this moment. If I reestablish a relationship, why am I doing it? If the answers come back from trauma, or from a place of societal norms then I can allow my love and compassion to witness the scared little girl, not just the little me but also the little my mother. When the question is felt from within this light of Love and Compassion. I can then move through the energy again. Allowing myself to move from a place of not fear but what is actually the truth for us both. This can show me the places where my frightened mother and frightened myself are indeed the same person. This doesn’t necessarily mean that I should run to the phone and call her. Instead it can remind me that, to paraphrase the Julia Jacklin song Head Alone, You Can Love Without Contact. Sometimes this is the most profound way we can Love someone…
Well that was quite a journey, a sign of the times. The energies of the next couple months are not gentle, we are surfing some deep and profound transformation energy. Remember we are still very much in the Earth Grand Trine energies I spoke about in the Libra New Moon Update. With the now Retrograde Kali, Algol, Retrograde Sedna and Alcyone conjunct in Taurus, Trine to Pluto (moving out of Retrograde the day before the Full Moon) and Isa in Capricorn, and a now forward moving Mercury in Virgo. Since the New Moon some have changed direction and Venus has moved on; but this deeply transformative energy is still very strong during the Aries Full Moon. It does, however, feel important to bring in the forward motion of Pluto and Mercury.. Since Pluto went retrograde about six months ago (29 April 2022) we have been in a deep internal examination of our structures. Exploring questions like: How have I structured my internal world. As Pluto turns around the day before the Full Moon peaks, with the Chiron-Moon conjunction, creates a feeling that we are being asked how should I Express (forward motion Mercury) this restructured sense of self in the world.
Speaking of Structures, just as Uranus and Saturn are moving ever closer together for their final nearly exact peak on the 20th. The Sun-Venus in Libra and Mars in Gemini are coming into a Grand Air Trine with the Lord of Karma. This Trine is pretty tight during the Full Moon, and it's gonna be getting tighter as we move into next week. Saturn is actually one of three planets that will be moving out of Retrograde during the month of October, on the 23rd to be exact; the same day the Sun shifts into Scorpio, the day after the Venus Star Point. As the Sun and Venus begin to shift out of this Trine, Mars, going Retrograde at the end of the month, will begin moving back into closer alignment with Saturn, keeping that leg active into November. Let’s explore this Saturn-Sol/Venus energy first. The Sun is our outward expression of self and Venus is what we adore, our desires. Both are in Libra, our relationships, our connections. Saturn is the Lord of Time, Karma - this Trine is asking us to explore our relationship to structures. Oh hello Arcturus, I was wondering when you would pop in…OK, so, just after we move through the tightest configuration of this leg of our triangle, from the 17-19 of October Arcturus will make its annual conjunction with the Sun, this time with Venus along for the ride. The Stellar Dimension of Arcturus is home to our Akashic Records. This energy is often shown to me as a Train Station, the “Way Station”, a place we go between incarnations. It's like a Soul Light Grand Central Station. We go there to meet with old friends, to look at where we’ve been and explore where we might be going next.. I have often felt a deep connection between this stellar dimension and Saturn. With this alignment we are being asked to remember that our true self is so much bigger, so much vaster than the body we currently inhabit. Can we also feel that the energetics of Saturn are so much vaster than the limited roles it is often slotted into. There is a deep sense that as we connect to our true sense of self, to allow ourselves to connect to the love that we are. We can also allow ourselves to connect to the love that Saturn represents. We are being asked to explore our relationship to Karma, to Structures, even to Time itself. Over the last month or so we have been exploring all the ways that Mars in Gemini is helping us connect to the power of our thoughts. How Mars’ extra long stay in Gemini is asking us to remember that our thoughts are indeed actions. What if we were able to remember that we are not our karma, that we are not time. What would happen if we allowed ourselves to think outside of linear time, outside the structures we see in front of us. What if we allow ourselves to connect with the truth that we are in fact expressions of divine love embodied. We are the Universe experiencing itself. Oh did I forget to mention that Shiva is currently conjunct Saturn.. The Trine between Shiva and Venus is actually tighter than the one with Saturn. Shiva has been called the foundation upon which Shakti dances. You can see this in the common representation of Kali standing upon Shiva’s back. This is reminding us that we need foundations in this embodied existence. A river without a bank is no longer a river.
This brings us back to the Uranus-Saturn Square, if we remember this as how the New Earth is born. Can we then see that which is falling away and that which is being born are not two separate things? Perhaps instead of “Othering'' these aspects, we can remember we are being gifted with an ability to wash, burn away that which is no longer serving the planet and us. So that we can make space for all the new aspects of ourselves that are rising. It is a shifting from one state of being to another rather than the death of one thing so another can be born.
I have often been struck by the “Othering” language within all aspects of this life. The common story of Atlantis is an example of this. Two factions, one spiritual the other scientific. In many tellings of this story, whether in “New Age” communities or in the creation stories of the Hopi and Zuni, we learn that the ‘Scientists’ started to abuse the planet, they lost touch with nature and the elements. So God, or some other force created a great tidal wave that capsized the entire island. This is also the story of Enoch and the Giants - Noah and the Flood. There are many ways this story is told. A common thread being that one party did something that created the flood. It has been coming in a lot for me lately though, what if the flood was all-ways meant to happen. We can see examples of this othering even in current natural disasters, I remember when Katrina hit New Orleans the evangelical media figure Pat Roberts saying this Hurricane was the result of Gods vengeance towards the gays… It feels important to point out that there are Natural Disasters and there are “Natural Disasters''. There are abuses of power that can create catastrophes. Take Katrina, the Hurricane is a common environmental event in that region. Made stronger almost definitely by climate change. The devastation was made worse due to faulty infrastructure, the levees literally broke. Now we could run circles around one another pointing fingers, yet we all live together on this planet, each of us using her resources. Blaming one party over another isn’t going to help those who lost their homes, nor will it rebuild the levees and it is definitely not going to stop climate change. So perhaps instead we can find a way to step back from the ledge, say OK that happened now what. Not who caused it to happen, that answer is usually when it comes down to it, All of Us.
While we are on this ride, I am feeling “Original Sin”. This concept has been really loud over the last couple months and feels connected to so many of the cosmic movements going on into next year. Many human religions currently have a story of “the fall”, which in Catholic tradition is the eating of the apple and the realization of nakedness. This was the “original sin” which led to banishment from the Garden of Eden. Through this sin, each being who comes into embodied existence, we are told, is literally sin incarnate. For the first time since childhood, I went to Catholic Masses during the Libra New Moon (two of them actually, long story). The beginning of one started with a prayer, and I nearly started to cry as I listened to all these beautiful souls praying for forgiveness, simply for being born! There is this idea, that everything that has occurred since the dawn of the human epoch, not just the common era but all of “known” human history, is somehow a mistake, that someone did something and now we are all trapped here.
Can we allow instead for the possibility that everything was actually planned, on purpose and for purpose, what if allowing this gnosis into our beings is what helps us to anchor through the new age?
This brings me to Jupiter and Hygeia… Jupiter is still moving retrograde; at the end of the month it will return to Pisces. As the Planet of Expansion moves back through these early degrees of Aries, an exact Trine is being formed with Hygeia who has just entered Sagittarius. This feels like a real gift, Hygeia, Goddess of Miraculous Healing in Sagittarius, our higher mind; that which we seek. Jupiter is the natural ruler of Sagittarius, bringing in the energy of seeking to expand our consciousness. They are Trine during this Aries Full Moon and over the next week will pass one another as Jupiter moves backwards and Hygeia moves forwards. Helping us to remember that expanding the state of our inner consciousness also expands the state of consciousness in the outer world.
These next couple months are so full of profound healing, transformation energy. It is such a gift that we have been given. As we move through the sometimes loud fallings and crashing it is important to find ways to support yourself. To be in places that help you feel the gifts in this transformation. This does not mean you cannot grieve for what goes away. It simply means to allow yourself to rejoice also in the new rising from the ashes. There is a Talking Heads song called ‘Nothing But Flowers’ the song tells the story of a being who has found themselves in a world transformed. All the modern trappings of American life have been replaced. Instead of a parking lot, a field of daisies, no more Dairy Queens or 7-11s. This protagonist misses the cars, and fast food. The song ends as they sing, rescue me “I can’t get used to this lifestyle.” Whenever I hear this song, I sing “I CAN get used to this lifestyle” however even as I sing that line, I am remembering that this journey is not about going back to some past way of life, it is about evolving. So yes, maybe the cars and fast food as we currently experience them go away, what new and amazing thing can we bring in? Can we make space for our curiosity to be peaked? To explore the potential that though we are not staying where we have been for this entire incarnation; we are also not going back to some distant past of hunter gatherers. That where we are going is wholly unique and something we maybe have never believed possible in our wildest dreams.
As we remember that we are each one of us, another one another, we begin to access this new state of beingness. We remember that we are ALL LIGHT and we will be alright.
