What does it mean to peer through a glass darkly and why would one do so? Let’s play with this shall we? Dark glass obscures the light, like wearing sunglasses on a bright day to save your eyes from the ‘harmful’ rays.. It is also something that is advised in order to view a Ring of Fire Solar Eclipse.. From a magickal or occult point of view, the dark glass is the structure that we build (the veil) between the realms and as we cast our gaze through this darkness our eyes adjust and we can in effect begin to clean the glass allowing more and more light to pour through. From a Jungian or Archetypical perspective we can view this process as Shadow Work, deep dive excavations into the self to find the un-subconscious patterns that have been clouding our vision and keeping us from seeing the fullness of our potential.
Can you feel the through line in each of these, that place where the liminal is being reflected in the physical?
As I write this the energies of Friday the 13th have come roaring through my being; I can feel another camera obscura - inviting us to direct our gaze with laser light through a wool that has been pulled over our eyes; in this moment the lens is focused on the ways we have been asked to believe that there is something sinister about a day which marks the “sabbath’ or holy day in the ancient goddess traditions; the 13th day a representation of the 13 moons of the year which correlate to the 13 menstrual cycles of the ‘Mother’; and Friday also known as the ‘Day of Venus’ with the word itself rooted in the name of the Goddess Freya. Friday the 13th was marked as Sinister, which is funny because Sinister is rooted with the word ‘Sin’, which is an ancient Goddess encodement - you see the ancient Sumarian Moon Goddess Nanna (or Inana, aka Venus) was also known as Se’un pronounced ‘sin’, which meant ‘Illuminator Lamp’.. As the major monotheistic religions (what we sometimes refer to as the ‘patriarchy’) sought to gain control over individual relationships with the divine, there was a concentrated effort to take possession of and redefine these holy days - to recast the celebration of the ‘Moons of the Mother’ as a “Transgression against the laws of God” or an “estrangement from God”, can you begin to feel the power of the dogma of ‘Original Sin’ in this; in the act of gaining wisdom, taking the ‘Apple’ into your own hands and body, allowing you to stand naked, without obstruction (in other words without a ‘church leader’), before God.
As I share this it feels important to note that the ancient Goddess traditions had distortions of their own. When we feel the pains of war and violence that are connected to the monotheistic religions of our current era it can be tempting to look back at these women’s circles of old with rose colored glasses, but like the dark glass with which we began our journey today, this too invites clouds to form in our perception.. In this era, through this portal of profound change that we are navigating as we move move into and through the ‘event horizon’ of this Libra-Taurus Eclipse Wormhole, it is not a casting our gaze back with the intent to bring forth a new Matriarchy and a toppling of the Patriarchy that is being asked of us - rather it is a re-membering of the wisdoms held in both traditions and through this like Isis and Osiris unifying them to create a true wholeness of being.
And as we invoke Isis let us begin to bring through the map that is helping us to navigate this Wormhole..
On 14 October at 10:55am the Moon will pass through the heart of the Sun, casting a shadow along parts of the Western Hemisphere - from Victoria Island BC, through the Pacific NW, and Oregon’s Crater Lake (which interestingly is where I was when found out that my beloved Feline Companion Poppy had Lymphoma in the hours before the Equinox), down through Utah and Colorado passing over the sacred site we call the Four Corners and Chaco Canyon NM into Texas, then through parts of Eastern Central America and the South American countries of Columbia and Brazil.. As Luna’s shadow is cast upon the Earth in the heavens a spectacular show of light, a Ring of Fire, will appear - from an energetic perspective as the Moon moves into the heart of the Sun we are gifted an opportunity to bring the depths of our unconscious and subconscious into our own hearts, our internal heat source, our center of passion and the blood that warms our bones and feeds our muscles.. When we are in the throes of passion whether in a male or female body it is a rush of blood that engorges our sex, we can feel this also as the rush of blood that fills our cheeks, the blushing, when we are truly seen by another being.. As the Moon and Sun together form this Ring of Fire we can allow all the old ‘dogmas’ to move up through our hearts to be alchemized by the flames of our true connection to the divine; to feel the rush of love and light, of heat that moves through us in those moments when we are creating from a union of body and soul.
I said that Isis called in the astrology and this is very much true, you see her asteroid and that of Persephone, will be closely conjunct with the Sun during this Ring of Fire Eclipse and they will be maintaining close relations as we move through this Wormhole passing through the Arcturus Gateway (17-21 October), the Scorpio Lunar Eclipse on the 28th and into the energies of All Hallows Eve and Dia De Muertos on the 31st October and 2nd November respectively..
The month’s of October and November especially in the Northern Hemisphere, are associated with the falling away; a time when the veil that separates us from our ancestors is at its thinnest point and the bridge to the journey of our soul is at its peak.. One of the reasons for this is Arcturus, the stellar dimension that since I was young has come to me in dreams and shared with me its nature as the “way station”. While I was on my travels through the PNW, last month, sleeping on a forest road just outside Sisters OR, I was gifted a vision of all the light that connects each of the stars in the sky; during this visioning with the re-membrance that many, even most, of the ‘stars’ we see in our sky are actually ‘lightbodies’, souls who have, currently are, or someday will incarnate here on the Earth plane; it was shared with me that there are other ‘stars’, like Arcturus, Sirius, and the Pleiades, which are not ‘single souls’ but are more like community hubs - each of these centers holds its own special magic, its own frequency and acts as a place where ‘stars’ may gather. We could view this as the ‘many gates or planes of heaven’.. Arcturus has often appeared to me as a train station the surrounding area filled with cafes, parks, shops and ‘clinics’ - a meeting place where soul gather between incarnations, awaiting their life review and planning sessions, meeting with old friends and coming up with fun little ways in which we can intermingle, new ways to help one another activate and fine tune the connection between the physical forms we will take on the Earth plane and the ‘Light’ that is our true form. During this season when the Sun comes up to meet this stellar dimension, we are gifted the Arcturus Gateway, a doorway into this realm. This year the gateway opens in conjunction with not just the Sun but also the South Node, which is tuned to the frequencies of where we have been; the backwards journey of our Soul and in opposition with the North Node, the what we came here to do growth points. During Saturday’s Ring of Fire Eclipse we find the Sun and Moon just a few degrees away from the exact conjunction between Arcturus and the South Node, Isis and Persephone sandwiched between and Mercury ‘bringing up the rear’, as we move deeper into the Eclipse Wormhole the Moon will begin its waxing journey through the sky as the Sun draws ever closer to this Stellar ‘way station’; then as we find ourselves halfway across the bridge of this eclipse season the Sun, Arcturus, The South Node, Persephone & Isis meet together in conjunction.. What does this mean? Basically it means that Yes, Saturday’s Ring of Fire Eclipse offers a powerful and unique opportunity to connect with our life force and creative potential, it is not a ‘one and done’ sort of activation, rather it is catapulting us into a powerful series of events that if we can let go and allow them have the potential to radically change not just how we perceive the world, but also the world - for of course what we perceive is what becomes..
I feel called to share that this is not a journey for the meek, much of what we will witness is connected to some of our deepest and most painful wounds; this is a necessary part of the journey - we cannot find the light if we do not journey through the darkness.. Like the story of Persephone; who is also Inana, who is also Venus; shares with us - like so many of our stories seek to remind us, it is only through traveling through the depths of hell that we discover the light and power of who we truly are. I do not say this to frighten or disencourage, in fact it is my greatest desire that this ‘warning’ sparks within you one of the most human of human traits, the courage to rise up in the face of adversity, to stand and say I am strong and can do hard things.. We are fighters, we are warriors, and while, yes this state of the human condition has been manipulated over the years, used to wage wars and harm others; it is this same strength of will (of heart) that as we journey through the night allows us to face the demons that hide within not with weapons of war but with the most powerful panoply at our disposal, the light which is our loving gaze of acknowledgement.
Perhaps this is why we are being gifted an opposition between Mercury in Libra and the Retrograde Chiron in Aries during this Eclipse Wormhole - Mercury who is the Messenger of the Gods, is also Enoch, who is said to have been the messenger between God and the Fallen Angels, who is also Thoth the ‘librarian’, who brought the ancient texts from LeMUria and Atlantis to the temples in Egypt after the fall.. An opposition that invites us to dive ever deeper into wounds of separation and abandonment, into the question “Who AM I” (Chiron in Aries), and through this journey within find that golden filament that is our connection to the divine, and using this line send our pain and longing across the abyss that we ourselves created to be transmuted in the fires of love, allowing us to see all the ways in which this filament has all-ways connected us to the Seed that grows to be the Flower of Life that is the sacred nectar, the Amarita, the Liquid Light that forms all.
This wormhole is catapulting us through the zero point, helping us connect to the places where we are able to create more wholly.. To find the deepest places within us, those places where we believed that ‘light feared to tread’ and invite it all in.. As we journey through the Ring of Fire you are invited to call upon your ancestors, all the beings of light, your team/ guides, the angels and ascended masters, God the Divine Source to see how held you are on this journey, visage all these beings in a celebratory dance around the ring of fire stoking the flames ever higher, what color are these flames? Are they the Violet of Transmutation? The Deep Blue of Divine Mothers Love? Perhaps the Violet-Blue that is the alchemical marriage of the two? Or a deep Red-Orange that helps you transmute old sexual wounds that have been limiting your creation magick? Something else, perhaps even a color, a frequency of Fire that before this moment was not yet known to you?
One of the magnificent energies of Eclipse Wormholes is that they have the capacity to take us places that were not part of our conscious knowings, they invite us to let go and allow gnosis to guide our journey, and reveal to us that which we most need but did not yet possess the tools to conceive.
