Gemini New Moon and June Solstice Edition
Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it. — Rumi
In meditation, feeling into the coming months and the cycle that this New Moon and Solstice are opening up for us; it was the above quote attributed to Rumi that came through and has been resonating within my entire being saying this is the answer you seek.
It is our foundations, in particular that I am feeling most strongly as we move into the energies of the second half of June and into the rest of this year. Not the erecting phase but the demolition. We are always building, however this is that phase which requires tearing down the barriers that were previously erected and no longer serve. Throughout our human incarnations, for the last couple millennia in particular, we have been told that our sensitivity is dangerous, something to hide. We have been told to guard our hearts and prevent their breakings. From the earliest moments of our young lives we are told our emotions, grief, anger, and yes even Love are things that need to be hidden away and protected. If we reveal them, we reveal our-selves and this makes us weak and susceptible to attack. To me this feels like a very useful ploy for those who seek dominion over others. For if we mistrust and hide our love from one another (and ourselves) we become separate, alone and afraid. We build walls but they do not protect us instead they cage us.
This is of course an illusion; for the Love does not go away and we are never truly separate, it is simply a veil, a wall that we have built. So let’s call in the demo team now, as represented in the cosmic consciousness, that blueprint of energy that the planets and other astrological points and bodies provide us…
The Gemini New Moon occurs on the 17th of June at 9:37 pm Pacific; and the Solstice is just 4 days later on the 21st at 7:57 am (the Sun officially shifts into Cancer at 7:58 am); much of the blueprint between these two points in time remains the same. I’ll bring in the differences when guided. When viewed together we are given a beautiful map to help us navigate this energetic cycle, which extends through the rest of this year.
Just a couple hours before the Sun and Moon officially meet, at 10:27 am Pacific, the planet most associated with our structures and foundations, Saturn, will turn retrograde. This retrograde begins at 7 degrees of Pisces, and before Saturn turns around again on 4 November the Lord of Karma will make it all the way back to the 0 degree. This is taking us into the field of energy that was running as the month of February gave way to March and Saturn shifted signs from Aquarius to Pisces; giving us an opportunity to explore what we’ve built since then, what we’ve re-leased; to go within and determine what we need to bring in and to let go of next in order to continue moving forward and transcend our past.. All the while Pluto, still T-Square to the Lunar Nodes, has officially retrograded back to the 29th degree of Capricorn (the sign Saturn rules) to continue the demo work that began to really heat up back in 2020. Can you feel the tracks I’m laying down here?
Saturn’s retrograde back through the early degrees of Pisces feels like ‘a’ signature energy of this particular New Moon and the rest of the year. The sign Pisces is connected to our higher heart, to those places where we transcend. As Saturn has been moving through the early degrees of Pisces I have been feeling this beautiful energy as a sense of flow state, and an invitation to transcend the barriers of time and karma that we have placed around ourselves. Over the last few weeks the asteroid named for Magdalena has been passing through the same space as the ringed planet; at the New Moon and Solstice this archetypal energy of story reclamation will be at 11 degrees Pisces, still conjunct though loosely with our karmic father figure. All the while across the wheel over in Virgo the Goddess energies of Isis, Persephone and Parvati are conjunct at various degrees of separation. Their opposition to Saturn and Magdalena will be active straight through the Solstice. This is some mighty powerful purification energy, with 3 archetypes associated with rebirth and divine feminine creation energy all together in the sign of purification and wholeness. This is not a simple opposition however as during the New Moon, the Messenger Planet Mercury, in its home sign of Gemini is making an exact Square to both Magdalena and Persephone, each at 11 degrees of their respective signs (Isis can be found exactly across from Saturn at 7 degrees). This T-Square feels like a negotiation of sorts, the messenger traveling back and forth relaying messages of wholeness, as Saturn says ‘Yes, but first we must go within and examine the barriers so we can find all the fractures’. These are the places where the walls are weakest and less force is required to tear them down. We can view these fractures as the wounds or even the Timeline splits where we have hurt ourselves trying to hide from love, from believing the lie that we are separate and wounded. When we re-member the truth that we are literally expressions of the Divine, of Love, we can travel into those places we’ve been told are wounds and find that they are actually the places where our light can most easily break through.
I can feel this topic calling in Venus, last week on the 5th or 6th of June (depending on your location) the planet of Love, Beauty, Desire and what we value made her way into Leo, where she will stay for the next four months. I shared more about the whole of this transit on the YouTube channel, you can find it here: Boldly Creating Love with Venus in Leo; at the moment it is the particular alignments occurring during the New Moon and Solstice that want the floor. For this we bring in Mars, Black Moon Lilith and Pallas Athena, who are with Venus, making a cozy Quad in Leo. As the Solstice energies peak the primordial ‘will not submit’ feminine energies of BML and the driving force of Mars will be exactly conjunct. Leo is the sign of strength and courage. If Pisces is the Higher Heart, Leo could be considered the big bold human heart space, creative and strong if occasionally a bit bombastic. The human heart is the strongest organ and muscle in our entire body. It is made to shatter into a million little pieces and grow stronger from the process. When we have the warrior energies of Pallas and Mars in this sign dancing with the desire of Venus and the force of Black Moon Lilith we can be certain our heart flames will be getting lots of fuel. During this cycle these players are also making a tight Trine to the Wounded Healer energy of Chiron in Aries and Square to Uranus in Taurus.. This feels like a powerful template for seeing the wounds carried within our human hearts in a new way.
Pain, Grief, Heartbreak, even Anger; we have been told these emotions are no good, that enLightenment means removing these “obstacles” from our life. That the spiritual path of healing means transcending pain; I have been feeling into this quite a bit lately, meditating on the Buddha and Kaun Yin’s journeys, and those of so many of our medicine teachers, that at the moment of enlightenment the truest truth attainable is that ‘to live is to suffer’. What came through is, yes of course, yet also not quite. By which I mean that yes, as we travel through our human incarnations; even as we ascend more fully into connection with the truth that we are all beings of light (love) experiencing embodiment; we are still subject to the life-death-life cycle. Which means that we will always experience the loss of our loved ones and the decline of our physical form and eventually the re-lease of our soul from the vessel we called home for however long that particular incarnation journey lasted (i.e., we shall die). That is part of the deal on this planet, everything here will die, and through this death new life will be created. When I say that it is also not true that to live is to suffer, what I mean is that we can choose instead to celebrate all moments as equally profoundly wonderful. Illness, pain, ecstasy, joy, dis-ease, love, heartbreak, grieving a loved one's passing and the birth of a new being. I can absolutely understand that the idea of celebrating a seemingly senseless tragedy may feel a bit uncouth.
I can actually feel this quite viscerally right now, as Just the other night, less than 2 blocks from my San Francisco home, out in front of a dear friend's shop; where I used to work and sell clothes in another life; there was a shooting, nine people were physically injured and many more traumatized by the experience. How can we celebrate something as tragic as this? One way is a celebration that no one was killed, but even more true it feels like a redefinition of celebration is in order. Perhaps it becomes easier if the word Honor is used rather than celebrate? We honor those who were present and injured, we express gratitude for all that helped and rose to the occasion (perhaps even celebrate them?) to help one another. We do not say YAY, someone(s) succumbed to their ‘lesser demons’ and pulled a gun, violence broke out, many were hurt and many more felt the pain of loss as fear and distrust were sowed. I have been feeling into this particular narrative a lot over the last decade or so; especially as a being who incarnated as an American during this consciousness shifting period, how can we find a way to celebrate the lives of those who were injured in an act of violence (a mass shooting in particular), and not give away power to the being whose own unresolved traumas led them to this violent act? Perhaps the clue is in this latter statement, a recognition that the act itself is not the beginning but an end product of a failed system that needs a good demolition and rebuild on many fronts - first and foremost being a de-stigmatization of mental healthcare. Of course we as a society generally and not just in America could use a pretty massive overhaul in the ways we treat not just our mental, but also our physical, emotional and spiritual health.. Other reforms would also be helpful but a restructuring of the way we nurture and nourish our states of being feels like the only way to bring lasting positive change.
This is also why we are in such desperate need of medicine, and I don’t mean valium or prozac; I mean shaman’s, medicine people, wisdom holders, teachers, light workers, beings who are able to help people access their shadows; connect with their traumas not from a place of judgment, shame or victimhood, but from a place of love and empowerment… Many of us are waking up to the powerful medicine we carry within, our abilities as medical and emotional intuitives. As torch holders and light keepers, as bridges and wayshowers; over the coming year, even as so much of the old falls away, more and more of our wisdom holders will begin rising up. The youth, in particular those born after 2012, will be coming into deeper contact with their soul missions, born to parents who do not ask them to turn off or shut down their innate knowings, but rather help nourish and nurture these gifts. Parents who themselves are also already beginning or well on their ancestral and karmic reclamation paths; as they walk also removing blocks along their children’s paths.
This is the gift of Chiron, who is quite active during this Lunar cycle and Solstice period, both in the Trine to the Leo quad but also in a powerful T-Square with Hekate in Cancer and Yeshua conjunct Arcturus in Libra. One the day of the fateful shooting event near my house, a few hours before, I was crossing the street where it would occur and I felt Chiron come in, this energy of “medicine teachers needed’ in particular. I laughed as I heard this energy say, what if I had said, ‘I’m sorry I cannot teach you, my leg is still wounded, I do not know enough yet. What use is the medicine (wisdom) I have accessed unless I am able to heal this wound?’ I held space and love for those aspects of my being who have said, ‘who are you to think you have wisdom to share’, as I sent and continue to send love also to all those magnificent flame holders who believe for whatever reason they are not yet ready to share their medicine with the world. This is the same energy template I am feeling in this T-Square, Hekate holding her torch aloft for us all, from the sign of belonging (Cancer), lighting up the path that connects our deepest wounds, in particular ‘who do you think you are’ (Chiron in Aries), to the powerful ‘you are all-ready shamanic’ energy of Yeshua (the aspect of christ consciousness that explores the depths of our humanity and the heights of divinity) and the stellar dimension of Arcturus giving us access to the Aksha and the entirety of our souls journey. In remembrance that we have access not simply to the wisdom of a single incarnation but to that of the whole of the cosmic story; when we allow our-selves to re-member, we can then express this medicine in that way which only our soul is capable, sharing our unique gifts and soul expression; for the highest good as our most authentic truth.
This brings me to the Gemini New Moon; as the Sun, our soul light and Moon, our un/ subconscious realms meet in Gemini they will be making a powerful Mutable Grand Cross. The New Moon itself is in almost exact opposition to the Galactic Center (GC) in Sagittarius as the energy of Ceres in Virgo and Neptune in Pisces cross them. This is another of the signature energies of this particular cycle, the Square between Neptune and the GC is an energy that began as we moved into 2023 and will continue straight through 2024, waxing and waning throughout this span. Neptune holds a template of shamanic energy, the remover of veils. In this case as the Sun and Moon in Gemini create a stronger access point to the ways we express our-selves. Neptune is helping us go even deeper into our higher heart and connect to those barriers we’ve built up that keep us from communicating and expressing our-selves authentically. The GC is directly across the way connecting to the wisdom of the cosmic consciousness, bringing our connection to our whole true stellar selves online. This is getting an extra powerful boost as Sedna has just shifted into Gemini, sitting now at the 0 degree. Senda has a very large orbit, this body goes all the way out to the oort cloud the farthest reaches of our solar system where the veil between our system and the rest of the galaxy becomes but a thin membrane; she is currently on the return trip bringing all the information she collected at the farthest reaches, the wisdom of our true galactic-stellar nature back to us; with the messenger planet Mercury also in home sign Gemini and making that powerful Square to Saturn, all things come back to where we began. A reminder that ‘the wisdom’ has been within us all along. As we allow the barriers we’ve built against it to be seen and heard we also allow them to fall away. This is the end game, not “end game” but ‘the end game’, to keep allowing what needs to fall away, to fall away so that the new may rise up, to allow those old stories and ideas of what and who we are “supposed to be'' to be hit by the wrecking ball of what we are truly meant to be. The purpose of a game which never truly ends..
As I begin to weave in the ends of this Cosmic Light drop; I share a reminder this is a Mutable Grand Cross, which means it holds a template of death, of the ending of seasons, that which must give way for the new to become. Over these next few months, the energy that we are navigating; which this cosmic blueprint is sharing with us and which we can all also likely feel in the blueprint of our hearts (in that unique way which we speak to our-selves); the ‘fallings and crashings of man’ is likely going to get quite a bit louder. Honestly I haven’t felt this particular level of ‘endings’ energy since 2020, which I do not say to instill fear but rather the opposite; to say you are stronger and braver than you know. You have been honed in the fires and cooled in the waters, you have a magic and unique light that only you possess and you signed up for this particular mission. If you are reading this it means that you are likely a specialist at this sort of clearing and building work. As you re-member your mission and shine brighter so too will the ‘localized cataclysms’ build in speed and intensity but that which is being catalyzed is our true full potential and that of this beautiful Earth and all the life that she fosters.
It feels to me that this is part of the reason this particular endings cycle is also cosmically aligned with a period where Pluto and the Lunar Nodes shift backwards together from the Fixed energies of Aquarius, Taurus and Scorpio to the final degrees of Cardinal signs, Capricorn, Aries and Libra. Pluto in this powerful T-Square is going to get an extra boost also from Hekate as she is currently making her way towards the final degrees of Cancer, holding up that torch light to help us see the beginnings, the new growth that is already rising from the dust and ash the demolition is kicking up. The Cardinal Grand Cross will be exact on 13 July when the nodes officially cross over.. We are currently in a powerful cycle to explore our unique gifts and talents, to access those places where we are called to teach and shine our light, to express our unique genius in the world. To show through our own walking the path that is available to all. One of my unique expressions is as a guide, a torch holder, much like Hektate. To help cast a light upon your Soul Path amplifying your inner light that you may re-member what you forgot in a new way and begin walking more consciously upon your road. As I said earlier we are in a place where all of our medicine is needed, we are re-membering that healers need healers and teachers need teachers, guides need guided and light workers also need light. We cannot do this alone any more than a single mitochondria could tell all the other little beings in our belly, hey I got this on my own I don;t need any help. For me this means that as I help guide those who are called to work with me upon their path, they too are activating me further along mine. This is so much of the new I am feeling that we are re-membering our true symbiosis, these barriers that we see and then allow to be removed connecting us ever more with our truth, our love and one another.
