What to say about this energy? It is wild, it is rocket fuel for your destiny path. It is opening a portal to introduce your-self to your-Self.
I am writing this edition of Cosmic Light from a beautiful ancient grid point along the Central California Coast, a little town called Cambria. The name itself evokes something within me that is hard to place. When I researched the name origin I learned it means Knowledge and Beauty, and that it was the ancient name for Wales.. Tomorrow (19 April) I will facilitate the New Moon Circle for the Blue Flame Apothecary Members Portal from this site. It's interesting, in many ways the energy that I am feeling coming through for this Aries New Moon (Eclipse) Cycle is very similar to the energy in this coastal village. Mysterious, dizzying, absolutely stunning and it makes me want to laugh and cry at the same time.
The journey I have embarked upon during this week before we fall through the event horizon of the Eclipse Wormhole is part of my destiny path. I have been called here to heal old (very old) wounds. To re-negotiate aspects of my Soul Contract and begin to introduce even more of my-self to my-Self. The timing could literally not be more perfect.
You see this Blue Moon Eclipse on the 19th or 20th (depending on your location) holds an enormous energetic template to help us connect with our unique soul path, with our true calling and with the “karmic” load we carried into this incarnation.
Let’s begin bringing through the Cosmic Map for this Eclipse. As with all New Moons we find the Sun and Luna exactly conjunct, however this is no normal New Moon, this is the second Aries New Moon of 2023 aka a Blue Moon and the first Aries Eclipse allowing us to dive into the energy of the new as the nodes begin to shift from Taurus-Scorpio to Aries-Libra.
Let’s explore this nodal shift first, anytime there is an eclipse we are experiencing a conjunction of the Lunar Nodes and the Sun-Moon. The exact makeup will shift, sometimes both the Sun and Moon will be conjunct the North Node (as is the case during this particular Eclipse), Sometimes they will both be conjunct the South Node (which will be the case during the Solar Eclipse that will occur in October). In the case of Lunar Eclipses we find the Sun conjunct either the North or South Node and the Moon conjunct the other.. The Lunar Nodes are also referred to as our Destiny Line, the North where we are headed and the South where we’ve been; they shift signs about every 18 months or so.
This Eclipse is the first one connecting us to the North Node in Aries, and South in Libra.. Though technically still in Taurus (North) and Scorpio (South), this eclipse is bringing us collectively into the new energy that officially opens in July, as the Nodes fully shift into Aries and Libra.. Here we find our Collective destiny line bringing us into a deeper relationship with our I Am presence. Helping us to birth the new and driving us to stand in our power. This is the energy of Aries, the 1st sign of the Zodiac, the go-getter, fiery and driven. While we move forward into our sovereignty we are also connecting to the relationships that have brought us to this point. The South Node in Libra reminds us that life is about balance and that when we are able to appreciate without harsh judgements where we have been, and all that has occurred to bring us into the now; we can claim the gifts of these experiences and forgive those mis-judgments of the past. Libra is where we connect to the world around us and explore the ways we relate to others.
With the Sun, our outward expression of self, and the Moon, our unconscious belief systems making a conjunction to this new energy we are able to connect to the ways in which we have not been our true self, have pre-judged what others might think if we allowed our fullness to be seen. Through this we can then begin to re-lease these old patterns and step into the light saying Here I AM. Because eclipses are always connected to the Nodes of Fate, we can experience through each eclipse season a profound and unexpected re-alignment. Sometimes it feels like being tossed around in Dorthy’s tornado and waking up in Oz wondering where the hell am I and how do I get home; however like Dorthy we also find that the changes we have experienced along the “yellow brick road” have changed us and the home we return to.
During this particular Solar Eclipse this re-arrangment of our Karmic Load is being gifted a potent ally as the Lord of Karma and Master of Time itself, Saturn, is making an exact Trine to the South Node and Sextile to the North. With Saturn now in Pisces this is inviting you to come into a deeper state of flow with the “mistakes'' of your past. To re-member that you did the best that you could with the tools you had available to you at that time, and through this transcend limiting beliefs about where this life can take you. Not bad huh.. I am feeling an invitation coming in.. it feels like this one wants to come through as a journaling exercise.. Grab a pen and paper and begin asking your-self some questions.. “In what way am I holding my-self responsible and saying I do not deserve to be happy because of X,Y,Z?”; “In what ways am I playing small out of a fear that if I rise up and share my whole light I will hurt or be hurt?”; “Where am I afraid that I will abuse my power because of past mis-uses?” These questions are just a framework, let your-Self guide not just the answers but also the questions which will best serve your unique exploration. Let the answers flow from your heart space and your connection to your Higher/ Multi-Dimensional Beingness.. Allow them to be “out there” too, we’re diving into deep karmic territory here so let the answers not be simply from this incarnation but connect you to your ancestral karmic patterns, as well as to what you incarnated with from previous lifetimes.
This eclipse is also linked to Pluto, now in Aquarius, in a T-Square to the Nodes that will continue running until we emerge from the Oct./ Nov. Eclipse Wormhole. Through this T-Square we can connect to the deep dark shadows, the “demons'' we've kept locked in the basement of our beings. This is actually bringing in a beautiful re-membering for us.. Over this past week I spent some time at a retreat center that sits at the base of Bishop's Peak in San Luis Obispo California, a sacred mountain connected to one of Gaia’s most powerful Ley Lines. The home where this event took place had until recently been possessed by a “demonic” presence. Four ancient land keepers who had been killed were unable to pass on because they had not been re-leased from their vow to protect the land where this house was built. A friend asked how they could have become demons? An answer came through me with such beauty and force it was impossible to ignore, it also feels like a powerful way to witness our own inner “demons”. These ancient land keepers “became demons” due to pain and grief, a sense of being trapped with no escape. Misunderstood and fearful, these souls began to lash out believing that all they encountered was a threat. Not unlike the fight / flight response we experience during our embodied existence when threats appear. Like these ancient land keepers, the PTSD we experience through not acknowledging our own shadows; through dismissing and trapping these “unacceptable”, “wrong”, and “wounded” aspects of our-selves in the cellar, we create monsters. If however we acknowledge these “demons'', allowing them to be seen and heard, they can, like these ancient land keepers, be re-leased from their vows and transmuted by the radiant light of Source, allowing our internal landscape to come into a new healthier state of being.
The Queen of the Witches is coming in now, holding her torch aloft to help guide us through this journey. You see that amazing Trine between Saturn and the South Node is actually a Grand Water Trine, with Hekate in Cancer making up the third leg… Lighting up our collective destiny line, pointing her torch and gifting us with a bright flame to see where we’ve been then shining it forward down the line, via a Sextile with the North Node; to help us carry the gifts we’ve retrieved into our future. A Grand Trine indicates gifts that are so innate we may not even realize they are there. In the element of Water these are the gifts of our emotions, here we can see that as we allow our-selves to feel all of our emotions, to grieve that which we are leaving behind as we celebrate what is rising up from the ashes we can more fully connect to our true soul callings.

Since we were just talking about demons it feels more than appropriate to invite Kali to join our party now… She has moved into Gemini and is sitting in a tight conjunction with an asteroid which just recently came into my awareness, Drago(n); as we bring this asteroid in it feels important to connect to the energy of the Dragon itself. As we do I invite you to explore what Dragon means to you, is it Power? Fierceness? Freedom? Does it scare you? A-liven you?
Now with your own senses brought through we can explore what Dragon Power actually represents. Let’s do this first through the element of fire to which Dragon is so often associated. Fire holds the energy both of “Sense of Self” and of connection to Spirit. Here we can begin to understand that the “Power of the Dragon" is actually bringing in the connection between your Higher (Spirit) Self and your Embodied Self. The Dragon resides in caves high in the mountains, reminding us that it is through our own explorations of the deep dark that we gain greater access to our heights. With this now templated into our being, can you feel the significance of Kali the “Demon Slayer'' and the “Great Mother” in conjunction with the asteroid carrying this Dragon energy, in the sign of the twins Gemini? Now to make this conjunction even more yummy, they are also making an exact sextile to Chiron in Aries and Trine to Hygeia in Aquarius. Hygeia is represented by the Caduceus, two winged serpents ascending a rod. This represents “Kundalini” energy, the rise of our feminine wisdom. Chiron holds the energetic template of “our deepest wounds”, in Aries this is most deeply felt as a fear of abandonment and a fear of being our truest expression of self. As we re-member that the Dragon helps us to unify our-self and our-Self we can feel Kali the Slayer and the Mother coming in to hold us as we allow our fears to be alchemized, to be purified in the flames of renewal, A re-membrance flows as we embrace the knowing that we actually abandon our-self, when we deny the embodiment of our true and whole Self.
Before I close this edition of Cosmic Light I am called to bring through a couple more aspects that really jumped out at me during this New Moon and as we continue our journey into the Eclipse Wormhole…
The first that wants to come through right now is an exact conjunction between Mars and the stellar dimension of Sirius. Mars is the planetary ruler of Aries, a sign which is experiencing much activation during this Blue Moon Eclipse and like the sign this planet is all about our drive, our passion, our purpose. Sometimes thought of as “hot-tempered” this planet moves fast, except last year when it spent a record 7 months in Gemini.. Now moving forward and back to its full speed again this Mars conjunction with Sirius, the Higher Self of our own Solar Star, is also making a loose square with Chiron, bringing a bit more fuel to that Dragon Fire we just brought through. Inviting us to bring more passion and drive to healing the relationship between our-self and our-Self.
We also find Jupiter making an exact conjunction with the Goddess of Chaotic Creation (or Discord) Eris, also in Aries. Tuning into this conjunction and inviting these energies in, can help you to expand your capacity to create from the ashes of your used to be.
In the days after this Blue Moon Eclipse we find our current cycle of forward momentum breaking as Mercury begins its retrograde on the 21st, this is kicking off a series of retrogrades that will continue through the end of the year. A reminder once again that in order to move forward we must first explore our rearview…
