Containing Multitudes
When I began tuning in to the frequencies of this Leo Full Moon I kept hearing the word “Identity” repeating over and over again.. By which I mean the “True Sense of Self”, not little i, identity, such as: this is my name, this is my job; or the seemingly larger aspects such as: this is my sex/ gender, this is my religion, this is my race.. No, what I mean is the full picture of who you truly are.
As the Light really starts flowing, I share the “definition” of the word Identity:
A unique set of characteristics that can be used to identify a person
as themself and no one else.
There are many stories within our collective consciousness that seem to parallel one another, that hint at the calling back of our true (whole) selves. Awaking this morning the Walt Whitman quote, from his Poem ‘Song of Myself’, was stirring through my being:
”Do I contradict myself?
Very well then I contradict myself,
(I am large, I contain multitudes.)”
This sentiment was shared with me by a selection of Archetypes who are very strong during this Leo Lunation; each of whom are indeed Large and contain Multitudes. To help us explore our Multitude of Identities (our wholeness); I was guided to create a chart where the multiple names of various Archetypes were each present. To see how, during a lunation so connected to Standing Courageously In Our Truth, the many faces (names) of these beings were aspecting one another. I suppose I should not have been surprised by what I found, but as the chart unfolded I was astounded.
There are so many places we could start but it is the Multides of Lilith that are calling us at this moment. Lilith has not one but four different astrological points connected to her; I detailed them in the Cancer 2022 New Moon Light Drop, another lunation when they were also very active (This Energy Update is also a good resource: Bridging the Seen and Unseen with Dark Moon Lilith). Here’s a brief recap: there are three hypothetical points (Black Moon - True and Mean and the Dark Moon also called Waldemath), each of these represents her energetic aspects, then there is an asteroid named Lilith, this is reflective of her physical beingness. Before we move on however there is another “moon point”, one which could be seen as the anti-Lilith, but to me feels connected to the deepest truth of her energy; it is the Selena White Moon. I'm not sure if this point has ever made it into one of our drops before. Like the Black Moon Lilith Point, the White Moon Selena point is what's called “hypothetical”, the Black Moon marks the apogee, the point farthest from the Earth in the Moon’s orbit; The White Moon marks the perigee, the point where the Moon is closest to the Earth in its orbit. The Black Moon holds a template of Primordial Feminine, the White of the Angelic Realms. Together they reflect the depths and the heights of the Divine Feminine. So what are the Liliths and Selena up to during our Leo lunation? Well we find the Oscillating (true) Lilith at 29° of Cancer, her “mean” point is at 3° of Leo, her asteroid is at 23° of Virgo, the Dark Moon is at 29° Capricorn and Selena is at 20° Pisces…
Which means her physical body (asteroid) is making a lovely Trine to her Dark Moon (the most elusive of all her states of being), which is also conjunct to Pluto and Mercury. The Dark Moon represents the part of yourself that you can only see when you are ready. ‘For those who have eyes to see me’, would be a good descriptive of this energy. Pluto has been conducting a massive tear down of our top-down authority structures for a couple years now, helping to reveal through this crumbling the secrets that were obscured from view. We could feel this as the Sun just starting to shine upon a street that had previously been lined with Tall buildings, after the wrecking ball came through. Mercury is moving through a conjunction with Pluto and the Dark Moon; heightening our ability to communicate with the divine aspects of ourselves.. This trine between the Lilith of Physicality, in Virgo the sign of wholeness unto self, no less, and the Dark Moon-Pluto-Mercury; seems to be saying If you are ready and willing to open your eyes, the next truest youness is ready to become embodied now. We also find Lilith’s “hypothetical points” involved with the Dark Moon trio; the “true” Lilith point, at 29° of Cancer, is sitting exactly opposite the Dark Moon. Here we find that the Dark Moon is helping to connect the Primordial Feminine (BML True and Mean), to her physical beingness (Lilith Asteroid). Our Black Moon Lilith points are currently straddling two signs, the True in Cancer and the Mean in Leo, yet they are still quite close to another making this what's called a mixed sign conjunction; which allows us to connect our Sense of Belonging (Cancer) to our Creativity (Leo). Then, through connection to that which usually goes unseen (the Dark Moon), we can allow these parts of ourselves to connect into our physicality (asteroid Lilith).
The Dark Moon-Pluto-Mercury are busy during this lunation, because they are not done helping us connect to our multitudes. You see they are also making a very close Sextile (mini trine) to the White Moon, Selena who, at 20° Pisces, is in a lovely conjunction with Neptune at 23°, Vesta at 28° and Shiva 29° Pisces. They are also sitting directly across the wheel from the Lilith Asteroid and Trine to her Black Moon depths! So we have Lilith’s heights (White Moon) meeting with the Galactic Shaman (Neptune), the Guardian of the Flame (Vesta) and the Foundation upon which the Divine Feminine dances (Shiva) in the sign connected to transcendence (Pisces). Neptune helps us to break free of illusions, to pull back the veil that separates us from our truth, Vesta connects us to our passions, that which fuels and lights us up, and Shiva gives us a stage upon which to express ourselves. Sitting with the White Moon, it feels like we are being connected to a new truth about what we call the feminine, what it means to be en-gendered; then we re-member that Neptune is also connected to the feminine, as an ancient Goddess prior to being recast as Poseidon, maybe we should call Neptune the Trans-Galactic Shaman. All together they help us to transcend the ordinary, to follow our truth, whatever that might be, to continue reaching for our highest expression of self. Which of course would not be possible if we didn’t also have access to our depths; so isn’t it lovely that they are right there, making a home for us in Cancer and fueling our passions even further in Leo. A Trine aspect reveals a place where our gifts reside, so in this way we can see that our gifts come from connecting our depths and our heights. Through accepting our multitudes we are able to bring these gifts into our embodied form.
There is an interesting piece that wants to be shared now, the angles (aspects) are revealing another truth. As we connect the dots, we see that the Dark Moon sits across from the Black Moon, and the White Moon across from the Physical Lilith. Here we can see that it can be more difficult to access, to see, our depths. We have to be willing to see things that have previously been inaccessible to us in order to bring through the gifts held within our primordial life force; however, if we do, our ability to embody our wholeness is amplified.
This brings me to the large amount of Fixed energy during this Leo Full Moon, which feels like it is pointing to the sometimes subtle shifts required in order to more fully embody our multitudes. As I began putting the chart for this lunar cycle together there was, as I mentioned, that word IDENTITY, one of the ways this came in was through various Archetypes who have many names. It began with two in particular, Isa and Kali.. So Isa, is the Arabic name for Jesus, who is also known as Yeshua; there is not an asteroid named Jesus but there is one named Yeshua. We have been working with the Isa asteroid for quite a few months but for whatever reason, until this lunation I have not been called to include the “alter-ego” Yeshua. With Kali it is a slightly different story, unlike Lilith and Jesus. The a-likeness comes in the form of a very prominent Goddess of Ancient Egypt, by the name Sekhmet. These two are not the same being or maybe they are? They have very similar stories, both emerged from the eye of the Divine to slay demons; are said to have become bloodthirsty and then had to be distracted (subdued) when the slaying got a little “out of hand”, then from this place rose to find themselves in a state of empowerment. They both ask us to find those “demons'' within us, to release them so that we may find our next highest expression of self. Sekhmet was VERY LOUD, asking to be placed into the chart for the Leo Full Moon, I laughed of course you beautiful Lioness. Turns out she is nearly exactly conjunct with the Sun in Aquarius!!
There is one other archetype of many names that asked to have her multitudes placed in this chart. In ancient Sumeria she was known as Inanna and Ishtar, to the Egyptians she is known as Isis and in the Grecco-Roman pantheon she is called Venus or Aphrodite, and all of these aspects of the Divine Mother-Lover have planetary bodies named for them.
Ok let's get into some Crosses and really start letting this energy bloom… As I mentioned there is a lot of Fixed energy during this lunar cycle. We have the Sun at 16° conjunct Sekhmet at 18° in Aquarius (Fixed Air), and the Moon at 16° in Leo (Fixed Fire) directly across the way. Sekhmet wants to share something about her placement with the Sun, she asks us to re-member that the light of the Moon is actually Sunlight being reflected down upon us. That as she sits with the Sun, she helps us to connect to the truth that our outward light and our inward light come from the same source. Her Hindu counterpart, Kali at 17° is still sitting conjunct with Uranus at 15° Taurus, and they are both sitting across the wheel from the asteroid named Ishtar at 19° Scorpio. Giving us a beautiful Fixed Grand Cross, which connects us back to the Fixed Grand Cross that was active back in July/ August of last year when the Portal of Destiny was activated, and with many of the same players.. With just a slight shift of perspective we are given yet another Fixed Grand Cross, this one connecting us into the Nodes. The players in this Cross are, Inanna at 6° conjunct the North Node at 7° of Taurus across from Yeshua at 4° conjunct the South Node at 7° of Scorpio, being crossed by our friends Black Moon Lilith at 3°of Leo and Magdalena at 6° of Aquarius. Wow, right! So what’s all this mean? First a quick refresher on Fixity, which marks not the end nor the beginning of a season, but those subtle movements in between. From an energetic perspective it can sometimes feel like nothing is happening, like you're moving in slow motion or even at a stand still. However these subtle realms, can actually be where the most profound unfoldings occur. It is in these places where the metamorphosis occurs in the unseen, which then allows for the flashier deaths and rebirths that follow.
Here we are being given double the metamorphic juice, and with the players involved what's happening in these subtle realms might not actually feel all that subtle. We are pretty familiar at this point with what Kali, Uranus and the North Node have been up to over in Taurus; I invite us now to feel back to the energy shifts you experienced during the Leo New Moon and Portal Destiny activation at the end of July, beginning of August 2022. This lunar cycle is bringing us back to this space; giving us an opportunity to see how far we’ve come, to see how much more of ourselves we now have access to. There is something really special about the Goddess Inanna in such close proximity to our collective North Node, one of the earliest “recorded” incarnations the Goddess of Fertility, in the sign of materialism, of the Gaia, with Yeshua sitting across way in our rearview (South Node), in the sign of transformation. A reminder that in order to birth our destiny it is important to look at where we have been; to collect the gifts that have been bestowed upon us. This brings me to a channeling that I received as Uranus began forward motion just after the Aquarius New Moon. As I was activating the Blue Flame Members Portal Treat for February, Yeshua came in and shared with me a beautiful vision of the Forgiveness seed he planted. Most of us have not yet been ready to harvest this gift, but we are in the era of the second coming, a time where we can truly begin to reap the forgiveness that has already been sown; all that is asked of us is that we open up and allow ourselves to receive it. As Inanna and Yeshua dance across the wheel from one another, they are crossed by Magdalena in Aquarius and Black Moon Lilith in Leo. With an exact Square between Magdalena and Inanna. Mary Magdalene was a Priestess in the Isis tradition, a temple tradition that predates the name Isis and goes back to a time before our currently known epoch (to the days of LeMUria and Atlantis, and even before that). As the story of this Roseline lineage reveals itself, it helps empower us to re-member our true origins. To re-member that the truth of who we are is so much larger than what we’ve been taught to believe. Our true story is indeed large; it is the journey of our soul and is vaster and older than most of us have ever imagined. The Black Moon Lilith is her primordial form, that access point to the true creative force at play, it is the Leo point (the mean BML) that is most at play in this Cross, as if to say you are a passionate creative being, this is what you were made for!
There are many songs that have come through for this Leo Full Moon, and as I was about to call in the players in our second Fixed Grand Cross, one came through.. Where is my Mind, by the Pixies. Specifically “With your feet on the air and your head on the ground; Try this trick and spin it” that is what is being asked of us. We can either allow ourselves to collapse under the weight of all that is falling away or we can pause for a moment, catch our breaths and spin it. Say oh right I forgot, there I AM; as David Byrne says in the song, One Fine Day “I stand in liquid light, like everyone”; and as Sekhmet was reminding us earlier, the Moonlight is a reflection of the Sunlight. We are each and everyone of us walking within a sea of light; this light is not separate from us; we are a reflection of the light, as it is a reflection of us. Which re-minds us that Ishtar is a reflection, a mirror image of Inanna; Ishtar is sitting across from Kali and Uranus, with Inanna just off to their side; As they are mirrors so too Kali is a mirror of Sekhmet; as each of our archetypes, the Gods and Goddesses, these Divine beings are reflections, mirror images of us and we of them.
As I began bringing all these energies together, I was told that these two Fixed Grand Crosses are helping us to “Stick the Landing”, in this time as we prepare for the major energy shifts coming in March, there is a lot happening in the subtle realms. With all the jumps we’ve been making for the last couple years, the World and our Being within it can feel overwhelming, almost like we are walking in a dream. With time seemingly sped up and slowed down simultaneously. Now we have a moment where most of the activity is happening underground, so even as the ground continues to shift around us; we are now being asked to hold ourselves up, to stand in our light and stay there for as long and as often as possible. We will all fall, it is part of the journey, for this we have each other, when you fall I am here to catch you, when I falter you are there to catch me. In this way the current of light remains unbroken.
Speaking of falling there is another Grand Cross that has come in to guide us. This one is Mutable, a place where something is ending, and contains three members of the Divine Mother-Lover line. Role call: From the element of Water in Pisces we have the planet of Love Venus; and across the way in the the realm of the Earth Priestess (Virgo) is the Divine Mother energy of Isis; these two are being crossed by Mars, whose is now moving forward again albeit slowly, in the Airy domain of Gemini; and bringing in the Fire we have the lovely Aphrodite in Sagittarius. This energy is interesting, mutable energy reveals something that is falling away, and we have Aphrodite and Venus making near exact Squares to one another, perhaps what’s falling away is the “lower expression” of Venus-Aphrodite energy?
I’m feeling a personal story coming through. Over the past few years I have been doing a lot of sexual healing work. Clearing and Rewiring old programs that have been running my background script due to sexual traumas I have experienced both in this lifetime and in many others. Some of this is in the form of ancient Tantrika wounds of betrayal and misuse of power; much of it is reflected in the many occasions in this lifetime that I have experienced sexual contact that I did not consent to. An aspect of this work has been pulling apart the wires connected to Sex and Love. You see, I realized that due imprinting I received at a very young age; as well as the multiple times that I have experienced sexual trauma; first in my youth at the hands of the man I called my step father and continuing well into my adulthood at the hands of various men; my wires had become crossed. What I mean by this is that my ability to receive Love had become infected, when someone wanted to share love that did not have a sexual connection my system would go into shock, unable to recognize the truth of what was being shared. It has been a long road, and I am not at the end of it yet; one part of this journey has been re-establishing trust. Trust in myself and my instincts, trust in the Love that is being offered to me, and trust in both the Feminine and the Masculine. This brings me to what I mean by the “lower expression” of Venus-Aphrodite energy.. We for so long now have been running a script that has over sexualized love and beauty. We have told women that their most “lucrative” asset is their beauty and the sexual desire that they arise in men. We have told men that they are simply walking penises, that they are unable to have a non-sexual relationship with a woman. Can we wonder at all that we have a culture where “me too” is more common than not. Which brings in Mars, who has been asking us to revisit and rewrite the way we think about power and how we express ourselves, through his long transit in Gemini. It feels like this Mutable Grand Cross is bringing our Divine Mother-Lover into contact with Masculine Warrior energy of Mars, so that we can all connect with the way that our Love and Sex wires have become crossed, frayed or otherwise damaged. To pull them apart, clean them up - let the old programs fall away; when we can see them clearly again we can begin to weave them back together allowing Love to be Love and Sex to be Sex, and allowing Love and Sex to marry again in a true way, in a divine way, allowing them to once again be sacred.
This feels like the right place to bring in the Guardian of the Crossroads, Hekate. A triple goddess all on her own, she represents all aspects of the feminine, the Maiden, the Mother and the Crone. She holds her torch aloft beckoning us to see where we are going, where we have been and all the roads that are available to us. Hekate is currently retrograde, yup all of the “major planets” may be moving forward but we still have some soul searching happening. The Queen of the Witches has just begun moving backwards through Gemini and is currently sitting in a beautiful Trine with a still conjunct Saturn-Medusa (Aquarius) and Sextile to Shiva and Neptune (Selena too in Pisces). Hekate already embodies all aspects of herself, she does not favor the Maiden over the Mother or the Crone, she understands that each is a reflection of the other and that each is an equally important stage of development. In Trine to Medusa we can feel how she is shining a light upon this being, who like Magdalena has been in the process of reclaiming her true story, of saying this is the whole me, this is the true me. I am allowed to be the full expression of myself. That self that is Maiden, Mother and Crone. In conjunction with Saturn in Aquarius, the sign of higher consciousness we can feel how they are all working together to help us create new foundations from a place of wholeness. A place where all aspects of ourselves are welcome and where our traumas actually reveal our gifts, if we can take a step back and allow ourselves to see the full picture.
There is something else interesting here, Saturn is also known as the Lord of Karma and Medusa has a storyline that involves being ostracized due to her sexual nature and potentially of being punished for a nonconsensual sexual encounter. For me this feels like it opens up a pathway for deep healing. I have spoken about Karma before, the deep sense that what we’ve often viewed as good karma or bad, is colored by our vantage point. If we can rise above, into the realms of the soul contract we might find that an agreement existed to create a situation that appears absolutely unforgivable but is actually something else entirely. This is a very difficult concept to speak of, when we see an injustice of any type our natural instinct is unsurprisingly to wish for the offender to be punished; much like as a young girl I sent my step father to prison for what would turn out to be the rest of his life. For me, rather than get into the weeds, saying, did I/we agree to this? Or did we have a contract that created this situation for some purpose that my human self is unable to grasp? I instead find myself called to forgiveness practices. What do I mean by this? For me it has meant connecting to these situations (both with him and with the others with whom I've had similar interactions); from a place of heart-centered meditation I call the situation, the experience, the person into my awareness. I say I forgive you, any contract we had is now completed and I release you. As part of the release I allow a brilliant rose quartz light to rise up from my heart and alchemize the energetic ties to whatever the situation or circumstance might be. This is a beautiful practice for any experience, situation, or relationship where there is an energetic tie-in due to harm (even little harms like someone cutting you off on the street). As you allow forgiveness to flow from you, it is not saying the thing that happened was ok, however it does allow you to stop carrying the burden of the situation within your being. That is what the contract release is about also, when we have a negative experience with someone, regardless who is “at fault” it makes a mark on both (remember we are all reflections of one another). By Forgiving and Releasing the contract you are able to free yourself from the weight, and to anchor more of your light. To find your empowerment and to also forgive yourself.
For me this has also meant going into a deep Ho'oponopono (A beautiful and powerful Hawaiian Forgiveness prayer) practice with my Inner child, because whatever soul contract my soul may have engaged in, the harm inflicted upon my young self was not “her” decision”. Sometimes when we begin exploring concepts like, soul contracts and we ‘choose our own adventure’ we can lose sight of a truth, ourn young selves did not make those choices, so whether your young self is a 5, a 15 or a 50 year old, when you start to forgive those who have “trespassed against you” it is also important to ask forgiveness from that part of yourself that was not privy to the “original agreement”.
This brings me back to the crossroads, to the place where we get to choose, we can stay small, scared and believing ourselves separate or we can choose forgiveness, empowerment and re-connection to the largeness that is our truth.
We each and every one of us contain multitudes, we are victims, perpetrators, sinners, saints, angels, demons, lovers, grievers, angry, filled with rage, we are light and dark. We are the all-thing and have emerged from the no-thing.
Each day you can decide which reflection you would like to see in the mirror, remembering that it takes all of us (the wholeness of us) to light the path, because without the shadows we also wouldn’t be able to see it.
