And… I .. Feel .. Fine
It's the end of the world As We Know It, and I Feel Fine… Once again I was given a song as I began to feel into this Gemini Full Moon Lunar Cycle. This time it is the classic song by R.E.M, a song that speaks to a time of shift, of collapse and of continents divided. This is not an Apocalypse in the traditional sense, some kind of doomsday prophecy. It is a reset, a new beginning. As the song opens we start with the ground shifting beneath us. “That’s Great! It starts with an Earthquake”, however rather than going literal can we instead explore the more metaphorical idea of an Earthquake. A shaking up of the status quo to make space for something new. A reorganizing of our current structures.
Uranus, the planet of Awakening and of Earthquakes, has been extremely active over the last couple years; spinning through Taurus, which represents our Material World and Physical Bodies. This Lunar Cycle is no exception. However, rather than that Square with Saturn we’ve been experiencing since 2020, we are on new ground now. For the rest of this year and into 2023 Uranus is dancing with Kali. This dance began back in July of 2022 as Mars, the North Node, Uranus and Kali all met up to activate the Portal of Destiny. Mars has moved on and is doing his thing over in Gemini, more on this to come. The other three participants in this ‘shake up to wake up’ are still rocking the house though. Kali nearly made it out of Taurus but just beforehand, on the 28th of September at 27°, she turned around and started heading back towards Uranus and the North Node. She’s been roaring back through Taurus like a beautiful hurricane ever since, gathering up steam, gaining ground and on the 27-28 of November found herself dancing right atop Uranus once again. Kali continues her retread through Taurus, moving ever closer to our collective North Node until the 30th of December, when she turns around to begin making her way back to Uranus again. On the December Solstice (21st/22nd) Kali and the North Node will once again be exactly conjunct, with less than 1 minute separating them! What does all this mean? To me it feels like we are being given an opportunity, to really get in there to explore all the places where we don’t fit and all the things that don’t fit. All that is no longer true about us, about the Material World and our Beings; in particular the way we Finance and Feed (I’m not just talking about food, but yes that too) ourselves. Awakening us to all that we need to shake up and shift out in order to move more fully into our path of destiny both personally and collectively.
Over the last couple weeks I have been feeling into what’s coming through the end of the year and the dawning of the new. For those who follow the western calendar, December marks the end of our year, a time to reflect on where we’ve been and where we are going. As I’ve been exploring this however, perhaps because I follow the Astrological calendar and lunar cycles, the time we are in feels more like it feels like the “Autumn of our lives”, the clearing phase, acorns are falling and the leaves too, things appear to be dying but seeds are also being planted; then we will truly enter “Winter” in January and February as the Sun first enters Aquarius, and then shifts into Pisces, asking us to get quiet to allow ourselves to be blanketed by snow, to hibernate. By early March as Saturn also shifts from Aquarius to Pisces (the first of a series of generational planet that will shift signs in 2023/4), we emerge into the “Spring” the ground begins to thaw and the first tender blades of grass begin to poke through moist ground, the seeds that fell during the clearing, after the hibernation, beginning to sprout, and as the Sun enters Aries the New year truly begins..
It feels like these next couple months are a time to really shed, to let all the debris rise up to the surface and fall away, to continue planting the seeds that will sprout in the spring as the New Era dawns.. Actually, I was given a second song for this Lunar Cycle, Sowing the Seeds of Love by Tears for Fears. In some ways it feels like we are being given two songs to help us remember that this is both a falling away, an ending season and also a planting season. That we are being asked to hold Love and Hope through the dark winter days and nights. To be that sun beam poking through the clouds.
Let’s look at a bit more of the astrological templating providing the blueprint for this reconstruction. It’s time to bring Mars back in… on 7/8 December as the Full Moon peaks, we find Luna herself exactly conjunct our retrograde friend Mars in Gemini. I’ve been talking a lot over the last couple months about the energy of Mars’ long stay in Gemini, how we are being asked to explore the way we think, to recognize how dramatically even our un/subconscious thoughts affect our world. The Moon is the “planetary” representation of our un/subconscious thoughts; and because this is a full moon, we find the Sun, our outward expression of self, sitting directly across from Mars and the Moon. Can you begin to feel how we are being given an even greater opportunity to make the unconscious, conscious? This is a powerhouse of an alignment already but they are not even close to alone. Firstly the Sun is sitting just off-sides from the Great Attractor, that massive space vacuum I spoke about in our last update. Allowing us to connect with and clear out any debris held within our un/subconscious at warp speed. But wait, that's not all, she says in voice over. These powerful energies are also forming a Mutable Grand Cross with Juno (and Neptune) in Pisces and Persephone-Isis in Virgo. Juno represents our familial relationships and sense of belonging, in the sign of the dreamer we are asked to dream of a new way to family, to tribe. Perhaps even to remember that we are in fact all one big family. Neptune is not super close, by degree, but being in its home sign (Pisces) and having just started moving direct again on the 3rd of December, the intergalactic shaman of our solar system is very much part of this cross. With Neptune’s recent shift forward comes an ability to also shift our consciousness forward, so that as we explore our dreams we can bring them through the veil. Persephone is the Queen of the Underworld but also the bringer of the Spring, in conjunction with Isis in the sign of the Virgin, the Earth Priestess, we are being asked to dive deep to explore our depths so that we can create from a place of wholeness, to remember that we too are all the seasons. A Mutable Cross represents our endings, it also represents that which can change easily. We could also call this an “Adaptable” Grand Cross. It’s packing up to move, throwing away anything acquired over your stay that you no longer need and loading the moving truck with only the possessions that you need in your new home.
When I was a child we moved a lot, I mean A LOT, my Mother, Sister, Brother and I never stayed in the same location for long enough for any of us to start a school year where we had ended the previous or vice versa. Except In 3rd grade, where I began the term at one school, we moved, I began a new school, then a couple months later we moved again and I found myself back where I had begun the year to finish the term.. It wasn’t until my last 3 years of High School, after moving in with my Father, that I went to the same school for more than a single term. Not that I stopped moving with him, but all these moves found me in the same school district. Recently my Sister and I were musing about this constant state of moving. We both absolutely dreaded it growing up there was no stability, no structure and much like Edward Norton’s joke to Brad Pitt in Fight Club, there was a sense of single serving friendships. Each new place a new set of friends and in the pre-computer/social media days of the 80s-90s, a sort of deep knowing that this was all temporary; that we shouldn’t get too close or attached, as at any moment we would likely move again never to see or hear from them again. As we spoke of this time however, with the benefit of perspective and all the shadow work both of us have done over the years, we were able to see a gift that this also bestowed upon us. An ability to go with the flow, to allow that which is not true for us any more to fall away with the knowledge that there is some new adventure ready to begin. It’s pretty funny actually we both have Cardinal (beginnings) sign Suns and Mutable (endings) sign Moons, so it could be said we were built for times like these… This is not to say there are not still shadows to integrate from all this moving, each gift revealed also exposes a deeper layer of sediment to explore. I often feel like an archaeologist of soul light..
One way the shadow aspect of this has shown itself for me is a little too much ease in saying goodbye, or as has often been the case in my life, a tendency to keep people at arms length. A fear of getting too close because it just makes the inevitable goodbye that much more difficult. I have done A LOT of work on this for myself, and though I still have a long way to go, I feel like much of the armor I built up around myself has crumbled and I am allowing the world in again. I share this in hopes that we can each find those ways in which we, as Rumi said, ‘Have Built up Barriers to Love’. To help myself, and all of us, remember that just because everything in this world is transient, in the Universe it is never ending and even as we say goodbye to one aspect of the world as we know it, we can remember that the field is simply being tilled to help us Sow new Seeds of Love.
Speaking of sowing seeds, Ceres, Goddess of the Harvest (and Persephone’s Mother), is also in Virgo; at 26°, she is actually closer in opposition to Neptune than the Mutable Grand Cross players, and brings Jupiter, still in Pisces (until the 20th) into the picture.. These three are also forming a tight T-Square with Venus conjunct the Galactic Center in Sagittarius. It is interesting actually, we have this T-Square just ahead on the axis of the Mutable Grand Cross, there is a sense of leading the charge with Love, of a literal sowing of the field with Love before the snows of winter come in.
This T-Square holding the forward position for the Grand Cross feels like the Mash-up between It’s the End of the World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine) and Sowing the Seeds of Love that has come through for this Lunar cycle. I have found myself signing them as a single song.

What I mean to say is that, it really feels like those of us who are already awake, are being asked to stand up, to be seen and heard. To take a stand for the “common man” the collective. To get our houses (hearts, minds) in order. To clear out the cobwebs so that as the tectonic plates shift ever more we have already planted the seeds of love within ourselves and are equipped to feed those in need.
A little side note, something I found interesting about these two songs. As I began to feel them moving through me, looking up the lyrics and some of the history of the songs. I found that many people, unsurprisingly, felt huge resonance with the R.E.M. song two years ago in March 2020 as COVID shut the world down. As the Tears for Fears song began to come through also, I wondered to myself, when did this song come out? They felt so similar, but also with some distinct differences. In particular the Tears for Fears song has a more hopeful tone, it is about an “End to Need, and the Politics of Greed. With Love”. So I looked it up and these two songs were released almost exactly 2 years apart. ‘The End’ in 1987 and ‘Sowing’ in 1989. We are being shown that through the last two years as we have been exploring The End, we can now truly see it is simply, as we (have previously) known it. From our new perspective we can now feel more free and capable of allowing this End to occur With Love. As my friend said about these two songs being released two years apart, it’s a coincidence that's not one at all.
Speaking of allowing our structures to fall away.. we also have Medusa in conjunction with Pluto (who will also switch signs in March - for the first time since 2008) in Capricorn; together they can accelerate the breakdown of old power structures as we build the new from our reclaimed senses of self. From a space of integrated shadow and light. This is being amplified even more by an Earth Grand Trine between Magdalena in Capricorn, our friends Kali, Uranus and the North Node in Taurus and the lovely Persephone-Isis in Virgo. This Earth Grand Trine connects the Mutable Grand Cross energy to our Destiny point. Isis is exactly trine the North Node in fact, helping us to remember that we are quite literally re-birthing our collective destiny. We are creating the New Earth. Magdalena helps us to connect to our foundation, and like Medusa to reclaim our-selves, she is almost exactly trine to Uranus, gifting us with the ‘Earthquake’ that reveals where the cracks in our foundations lay.
There is SOOOOO MUCH in the chart for this lunar cycle and it could feel a bit frenzied, especially if you are already experiencing all the emotional, mental, triggering and physical ungrounding that is so often part of our holiday seasons. It feels really important to remind us, whenever you can, take a moment or ten for yourself. If you are feeling overwhelmed, find a quiet space (even if it's the bathroom or a closet), to let yourself breathe into your heart space, to remember that you are loved and that you are Love. Also if you can, get outside take a walk, connect with the trees and birds.
As I wrap up this edition I am feeling called to share a special’ holiday’ travel airport practice that came through for me last December. I found myself in a very busy San Diego airport two days after Christmas, with many flights delayed. The stress was so thick you could cut it with a knife. To say it was loud and chaotic energy would be an understatement. A few years ago this would’ve eaten me alive, I would have been a mess. This time I called in all my support, I said please Guides, Team, Angels, My Higher Self, come and hold me, guide me as I travel. In the security line rather than get frazzled and frenzied or annoyed by all the theater; I heard a call, breathe into your heart, connect with the love that you are and that this universe is made of. I then felt myself called to literally beam this love through my being in the form of eye contact and a smile with those that I encountered. Once through security Mike and I were gifted with a couple of seats in the very crowded terminal. As I sat down I heard a call to put my headphones in and listen specifically to angelic frequency 1111hrz, binaural beats. As I listened, eyes closed, I suddenly felt myself building a beautiful meadow around me. Not leaving the airport and floating off to a meadow but creating a holographic overlay of a beautiful meadow, sun shining, birds chipping, within/ atop the terminal itself. As this meadow formed I started to vision all the other beings in the terminal there also, having picnics and chatting amiably with one another. I could feel a sort of hush come over the terminal, a calmness. The whole meditation was maybe 15 minutes and as I removed my headphones I looked at Mike and said, did it get a lot quieter in here? He said yeah it really did. It turns out that during this meditation a couple of long delayed planes finally arrived and were able to begin boarding. It was more than this though too, it was like people had been given a dose of love light and were carrying some serenity with them now. I would love to take credit for this, to say I helped the planes take off and gave a terminal full of stressed travelers a bit of ease and grace, and who knows, maybe I did. In the form of allowing grace to move through me, to flow where it could and fill any who were open to receiving it. So however and wherever you find yourself not just this holiday season but throughout your days, remember that you are also a conduit, a receiver and transmitter of divine love and grace, if you allow it.
In this way we all Sow Seeds of Love, and End the World As We Know It. Building the New Earth on Foundations of Love. Because
